So a major Ice Storm hit the New England area a few weeks ago and left the state in a state of emergency. My parents were without power for almost 2 weeks and their yard and road almost unrecognizable. It was a disaster. We luckily missed the ice and just got mostly rain but a few miles in any direction and it was like night and day. The storm was very particular to where it hit. Anyways the day after the storm we were heading down to NYC and were on the Taconic Parkway and it was one of the mose beautiful sites I have ever seen. My mouth was dropped in awe for about the whole ride. It was as if we were living in a glass world or some surreal place. The sun was shining and everything and I mean everything was covered in ice. We got detoured and rerouted about a million times because of the fallen trees and powerlines but it was so beautiful we didn’t care. I wish we had stopped the car to take better pictures- these are from in the car…

This is so beautiful. Stinks for your parents though. It reminds me of narnia or something. I know i saw these pics on your camera but they look so much more amazing bigger. each piece of grass is seperate with ice. So cool. All your pics are great, love your house in the snow and your christmas card is the best! love you guys. Happy New Year!!!
wow jen that does look pretty surreal! we only got rain on the cape when that big ice storm hit … as harsh as mother nature is ironically it is picture perfect…. i hope you guys had a super happy new years! sorry we didn’t make the trek up there to see you guys… we did end up going off cape a little bit but even then it took us over 3 hours just to get a 1/2 off the bridge.. soooo bad! i look forward to seeing you guys in this new year <3
