Maternity Style | Week 32

I wasn’t sure how I would feel about wearing a sort of babydoll/tent dress while pregnant but… IT IS AWESOME!! Especially when it’s super soft and a beautifully made Dear Creatures dress. So dang comfortable!! When you’ve been deathly sick all week a pretty dress can make you feel a whole heck of a lot better. This week has been pretty terrible for us. We have all be sick. Rowan has been waking up like every hour through the night crying for the last week. It’s been like the worst combo ever… Pregnancy + sick kid (like 104 fever sick) + sick self and husband + teething + no sleep + no family around= the longest week ever. I can’t wait to make the trip home to Massachusetts this week for some r&r and some family time with our parents. I don’t know how you Momma’s with more than 1 kid do it. I am excited for this new little one to get here but the excitement doesn’t come without some nerves as well. This whole week I just kept thinking how would we be doing this if there was another baby around? I know you just adjust and it becomes second nature but sitting around waiting for the unknown makes me a little nervous.

p.s. this dress has pockets! AMAZING!

The wind was intense out there today! I decided to take pictures inside instead. Works well when you have a large white wall and lots of natural light in your house. Bonus! Hello, winter photo spot. Anyway, we are well on our way here in the 3rd trimester. My outfits have been becoming quite simple. Comfort is high on the importance list when getting dressed. Lots of jeans and lots of Minnetonkas. Love this super cute and comfortable tunic from Modcloth.

I can’t believe there are only 9 weeks left. Rowan has started to understand that she has a sister coming. She likes to rub my belly, say hi to the baby and tell people it’s her baby sister. She even got to feel the baby for the first time today. It was pretty darn cute watching her feel the baby kick her hand. She is going to be the sweetest big sister.

Happy Thanksgiving (well, to Canada)!! and Hello! to the 3rd trimester. I have absolutely nothing ready for this baby, but I am so ready to be done being pregnant. I am not someone who loves pregnancy, I truthfully really dislike most of it. That is another post for another time though. Today lets talk about maternity tights and how amazing they are! So comfortable. Let’s also talk about being pumped to find more non maternity clothing items that work!!

This dress from ModCloth is so dang cute. Dresses work great when they have an elastic and higher than normal waistline. An empire waist works the best and sometimes even something a little lower will work as well. This dress is perfect because it has both those things and it has the longer length so your bump isn’t making it too short in the front.

I think by now we all know just how awesome Lulu’s is! I have loved their selections of clothing for quite sometime now. Did you know however, that they have a sister (well brother) site that sells just guys stuff? It is called Trucker and they have some really great guys clothing. They carry a ton of skate brand clothing which Kev really likes to wear. Make sure you check it out for the special guy in your life.

You never know what a family photo shoot might end up looking like a 2 year old involved. Rowan insisted that we had the umbrella (which she calls her bubble) and baby cheetah there. I forget how much I enjoy having pictures of all of us together. It’s usually just Rowan or Rowan and one of us, but it’s so nice to have pictures of all of us together. Hello 27 weeks!

Get ready for an abundance of pictures (if you’re not my mom feel free to scroll fast)…

I love these in between fall days. Cool enough to wear some cozy clothes but warm enough to still have bare legs. My favorite kind of day. I’ve been really trying to treasure this time with Rowan lately. Life is busy but I am trying not to lose sight that these are our last few months with Rowan as our only baby. She has turned into a chatter box over night. She can basically say everything now a days. Always talking.

I can’t believe that after my midwife appointment next week we start going in every 2 weeks already. How did we get here so fast? The third trimester is right around the corner. Flowy skirts like this pretty tangerine one are super comfortable to wear now a days. Not much is fitting anymore. Felt really great wearing this outfit all day today though. Love the layers against the light and airy skirt.

I finally found a reason to like/enjoy low rise pants! Usually I can’t stand them, but at least now they let me wear non maternity pants longer. My growing belly can sit right on top (that’s really weird to say). I wear longer tanks or a belly band anyways while pregnant so it works out just perfect. Score! I have been wearing this sweater nonstop since it came in the mail last week. It is so thick and warm. It’s like a jacket almost. I like my new haircut but I only really love it when I can curl it. That doesn’t happen everyday so most days I will be honest and say it’s in a ponytail or up in a bun. Good thing I can work on growing it out a little bit again before the baby is here. Wow. That was a lot of random thoughts about this outfit.

Like my new “Mommy bag”? I don’t like using the word diaper bag. Especially when it’s for a bag as cool as this. The nice people over at JJ Cole Collections were gracious enough to send me this new bag and some other goodies (bottle pod & a diapers and wipes pod) for the new baby. I have been using the bag for a week already and have gotten lots of compliments. I am head over heels. My favorite part? It has insulated Sippy cup holders on the side of the bag. This makes my life so much easier. Love them!

Shhh! Don’t tell but I am actually 25 weeks. I just never got this post up last week. We are rolling right along these days. Life is busy and the weeks are flying by. I was talking to my mom the other day and we realized I wouldn’t be seeing her till mid November. All of the sudden that made me realize how quickly (and soon) this sweet baby girl will be here. Crazy. Now that Rowan’s new room is finished, it’s time to start thinking about the new nursery. I am pretty excited about coming up with ideas. I think I have a color scheme all picked out already but that’s it. We are also pretty darn set on her name. It was a name I’ve had picked out since before we were even pregnant. I think it is the perfect fit and matches Rowan’s name as well (not that it really matters).

This jacket is my new favorite fall item. I am not a huge fan of dressing for pregnancy. Most of the time I’m uncomfortable and I hardly ever feel like myself. This jacket makes me feel like “me”. Not sure if that makes any sense at all? It does in my head. I love the two tone colors to it.
