Here we go! Another round of maternity style. I was looking back on week 19 with Rowan and week 19 (well 18) with Finley. Kinda funny to have them documented and so easily available to look at and compare. Blogs are funny like that. Anyway, I’ll try to keep up best I can. No promises for a weekly outfit picture but fingers crossed.
I have a love/hate relationship with dressing the bump (ugh- I don’t enjoy saying that hahah). It’s actually more like a ok/hate relationship. If you think about my regular style there is lots of tucking, cropped top types, button ups, high waists, and rompers. All of which DO NOT translate well to maternity. It’s left me feeling sort of lost on how I want to dress and not much room to make things work from my current closet. Why are maternity closes either so ridiculously expensive or so super ugly and matronly? Why is there no middle ground. Someone quick! Start a line of madewell-esque maternity clothes for me. I can’t decide if I prefer form fitting or loose and flowy. Both have there pros and cons. I’ve seemed to collected a handful of these type of maternity style dresses though… Midi length, form fitting and neutral in color. Seems pretty easy peasy if you ask me. These next few months will be interesting to say the least. Let the journey begin…
^^best $1.99 I ever spent. These microphones are the best. Also note Finley’s awesome hair.
^^19 week baby bump making it’s debut.

Love this outfit! I am 14 weeks along with my third and I just purchased this dress! Now I just need my bump to grow a little more so I can wear it! Hahaha! π I also totally agree that maternity wear needs a fresh spin. I tell my husband all the time that someday I will design my own maternity/nursing line… I will probably have to wait until the kids are grown! π
PS love how you styled the outfit!
Wow! Congratulations that is so exciting to add a third to your lovely family. I thought you had been rather quiet on the blog π We are trying for number two, so you inspire me that two is do-able…given that you’re heading for three!!!
I couldn’t agree more about dressing my ever-growing bump. An ok/hate relationship hits the nail on the head. I’m sure you’ve already known about ASOS.com, but if not, it has a decent maternity line! Relatively stylish and affordable, it’s my go-to! Good luck! You look great!
I totally feel you on the whole “dressing the bump” thing – I’m 28 weeks along & can’t decide on what I like best either since none of it really seems to be “my style”. I wish there were more cheap, cute options out there!!! You look great though! I love the dress π
ASOS Maternity is your friend! Looking great!
It’s best feeling on the world..
Babe.
Also, I want this dress. I’m not pregnant. But I want it.
I am loving that bandage styled bump! I totally agree with the frustration of letting your personal style go (it sounds like we enjoy the same styles, ie, high waisted, rompers, crop tops) to keep that bump looking classy. I know being pregnant with twins left me feeling so sad when looking at my closet and not fitting into ANYTHING I owned…hence why I will never again wear a maxi skirt. You look amazing and congratulations on your newest little one!
Strive to thrive,
Em
I just got this dress in this color and grey at target and I have been living in them already this pregnancy! So comfy and cute! Congrats on #3!!
Ugh, I hear you! After just getting done being pregnant, it was such a loooong winter of trying to figure out what to wear and wrestling with the fact that maternity clothes are generally NO FUN at all. So most days I hung out in my husband’s old Army sweats. Anyway, I can’t wait to see what you come up with for future maternity wear! You always look amazing! Oh and (since you mentioned Madewell), I just posted a fun Madewell wishlist for summer- http://www.sarahkeller.com. Gotta love online shopping π
An older lady literally stopped (pregnant) me in Target the other day to tell me how lucky we are just to find anything cute and easily accessible when it comes to maternity clothes. If we think things look matronly now…. We are soooo lucky! But I hear you– a lot of what’s out there now I find to be way overpriced and cheap quality. Did not find a whole lot at Target, personally. Love Asos, and Old Navy is cheap, at least. On behalf of the first-timers, maternity style posts like these are really helpful, so thanks — and keep them coming π
Hi Jen,
How can I contact you to collaborate on a project. I tried Etsy but the link isn’t working:)
Jana
Hi, there
You looks gorgeous, I just wonder where did you get the black &white flag fabric?
Thanks
