Around these parts

hey friends!
in case you hadn’t noticed from the last post or from instagram, the girls and i jumped ship last week and headed to florida. we were quite done with the ridiculous amount of snow and being house bound day after day. lucky for us my parents have a place down here, so we packed up on a last minute decision and flew down. kev will come and join us in little bit for a family vacation. we can’t wait for him to get here. we’re all kind of missing him like crazy.

here are a few random pictures of our past week. it’s not quite swimming weather (although rowan is trying) or anything but there is no complaining from us. anything is better than negative numbers, that’s for sure!

and this photo below is from instagram. it’s just too sweet not to share. so thankful for the technology today and that we can FaceTime kev everyday multiple times a day. even when we are far away for a few moments its like we are all together. this was finley “hugging kev” goodnight the other night on FaceTime. too cute!

  1. This looks amazing. As a Florida native transplanted to the northeast, I can completely understand the impulse to escape! Have a wonderful time in the sunshine.

  2. That’s so good that your parents have a place in florida! I think if my parents lived somewhere like that, I’d pretty much move in with them haha! It looks like you guys are all having such a great little break from the winter weather! I died at that photo of finlay when I saw it on Instagram haha! SO cute!
    Have a great weekend!

  3. Looks like a lovely place, and how nice for you all to get away for a bit of a warm break away from the snow!

Does the teething necklace seem to help?

  5. Maybe it is just me but your site is so slow to load. 30 min!

  6. It’s gorgeous. I am jealous as we are buried under a couple of feet of snow and more coming!

  7. Oh my gosh, good for you guys! I woke up this morning and guess what the temperature was in Watertown (NY)? -24. Yeah. Why do my parents not own property in Florida? LOL. Using the weather as an excuse to try LOTS of fun new crafts we’d never get around to in the summer though. Just made one of those super cute little milk carton villages- check it out! http://www.sarahkeller.com

    And keep enjoying that sunshine!

  8. I’m so sorry you guys have been so sick, šŸ™ and so cold… But very happy that you got away! I hope it all went great from there! šŸ™‚
Hugs and sunshine from us to you–Aloha!

  9. I can’t believe you’re in Melbourne! That’s where I live, I was born and raised here. As I was scrolling down the post, I recognized DT Melbourne right away! I used to work down there at a store called Go Fish! Glad your enjoying Florida with the warmer weather! And those shuttle launches…. they are scrubbed a lot ha! Enjoy your vacay! =)

  11. Jen, I would love for you to do another post about Lent now that it’s here and what your thoughts are about what you will do for Lent this year. I’ve always enjoyed reading those posts and how far you’ve come with your goals.
