There is something so wonderful about bringing your kid to Disney. Yes, it’s hot, crowded and ridiculously expensive (ever seen the Jim Gaffigan skit?) but I have to say, none of that compares to seeing your kids face light up over it’s pure magic. I pumped for like 2 weeks just to get enough milk so that we could leave little Miss Finley home with my Mom and just take Rowan. It would have been nice to have her with us but let’s face it, a baby at Disney is not the easiest. It was such a special day to give Rowan. Mommy and Daddy all to herself! She was in heaven. We brought her last year at a little over a year and half years old and it was good, but now at a little over two and half years old it was even better! I think this was the perfect age for her. Still free, but at an age to totally enjoy it all!
I had to bring my pump to pump during the day and let’s just say that was an experience I hope I quickly forget. Yikes. Not my most elegant moment. I only had an electric pump with me so I had to head to the Baby Care Center to find outlets. The “nursing rooms” at Disney are a little scary. If Finley was with us I would not have been nursing her in that dingy closet of a room.
NURSING MOMS TIP: Head to the Hall of Presidents. It is a long show, clean, dark and air conditioned.
Anyway, as I have mentioned before Rowan is obsessed with Princesses. I think her mind just about exploded from getting to meet them all. It was so hard not to get all choked up watching her get so excited over everything. I am going to say her favorite moment of the day though was getting to meet Minnie Mouse though. What an awesome day we got to have all together. One we will not be forgetting anytime soon.
We made a short little video of our day at Disney…
p.s Rowan was like a cm too short to go on Thunder Mountain. We were so bummed but umm how is she almost 40in? Such a big girl!
Omg – In the video, when she runs to Minny and hugs her – SO CUTE! So cute.
Oh dear, she is too cute running to Minnie to hug her ! All kids should feel that type of joy and excitement. Looks like a great time and quite memorable.
That video is SO adorable!! I love how many times Rowan looks back to you guys to see if you are seeing what she is. Her running to Minnie and the nose nuzzle – oh my! Fun vid of a fun Fam!
How adorable! I so look forward to the day I can bring my (future) kids to Disney and meet their idols. What a precious memory!
that just brought tears to my eyes. i love you guys and your beautiful family. what wonderful memories! so much love and happiness in her eyes – in all of your eyes. xox
That is the sweetest, sweetest thing! I’m so happy you all had a great time!
Oh I’m such a sap! That video totally made my eyes well up with tears. So so so sweet!
Oh my!! What an adorable video!! Rowan will cherish that for years to come, I’m sure!
Your video is the sweetest.
So sweet! We were in Disney Paris last year and even though I was pregnant (so felt grotty and couldn’t go on any exciting rides), it was still utterly magical to see my son’s reaction to it. Rx

Hello,
I have a 2 year old but he doesn’t really understand what Disney is yet.
Maybe next year, he would be more aware of this magic world?
Excuse my English, I am French π
have a great day, and enjoy your Mother’s day!
Siheme
This looks like an awesome day! I have never been to Disney World and when I have a family one day this trip is a must. How magical for little Rowan to have those memories! The video was awesome too! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks a lot, Jen. This video totally made me cry off all my mascara – especially the part when Rowan and Cinderella were together. Too sweet. π
100 percent made me tear up. One of my best memories was back in high school, when we brought my then 5 year-old cousin to Disney. His face when he saw Mickey “in person” was all I needed to believe in Disney magic. Rowan looks like she had such blast – nothing like a day with Mom and Dad AND princesses all to herself!!
Just wait. One day you’ll go back with Finley and Rowan will be so excited to show her everything π
I don’t know what it is about Disney but I always get teary when I watch videos with kiddos getting excited about it. I definitely got teary when Rowan met Minnie Mouse in that video! (Doesn’t help that I’m pregnant…haha).
Oh Jen! This is just adorable! As a mom of a daughter, with another baby on the way, this made me weep!!! We are planning a trip to Disney next year, and it cannot come soon enough!! Thank you for sharing your sweet memories with us!
Hi Jen,
I love your blog! The video of Rowan at Disney is beautiful. My heart melted when I heard the song you had playing the background. I love the Head and the Heart!
Oh, how I love Disney! I am just as excited as a 2.5 year old when I go… can’t wait to have little babes of my own and take them with me.
I loved the video so sweet!!! And you are right, the nursing room is very small. The ones at the newer parks (Animal Kingdom esp) are bigger and nicer. At least they HAVE them..most places don’t have nursing rooms. So thankful to Disney for giving mothers this option at least. I’m a local, so I’ve used them a lot at Disney. π
Oh my goodness. Watching her run up to Minnie Mouse just about killed me. SO CUTE! I love Disney World so much and seeing your little video makes me so excited to take Olivia one day! xo
So adorable! My friends are taking their little girl to disneyland in september and I’ll be with them for one of the days and I cannot wait to see her face light up!
xo Jennifer

Oh my word, how adorable is she? And all three of you together? I teared up watching that video! When she runs to Minnie Mouse! And then they touch noses and Rowan rubs hers afterwards, cute!
that video! her meeting minnie! goodness, so adorable!
That video was absolutely adorable. Disneyland is the epitome of childhood happiness. :o)
As someone who insisted upon dressing up like Minnie Mouse for a number of months when I was Rowan’s age, I just about died when I saw her giant smile when she met Minnie.
That fantastic just to see their faces worthwhile. Your girl has an awesome happy face. Kisses and Happy Mondays.
Aww even I got a bit teared up seeing her reaction to Minnie! I so hope one day we can take our little girl to Disney World, there really is nothing even remotely like it in our little corner of the world.
too cute. it’s so funny, my dad has been talking about taking EBN to disney since i announced i was pregnant. i was all for him going with her – i’m not crazy disney and i just was never high on my must do with my kid list. but recently, i don’t think i want to miss it. she’s going to love it SO much!
Hi!! I love your chambray dress! Do you mind sharing where it’s from?! Thanks!
So freakin’ cute! We just took our 2-1/2-year-old daughter to Disney, too, actually (I think it was even the day after you were there), and Bridget was definitely not as brave as Rowan! She met Minnie and Daisy in the same spot you guys met Minnie, and we had to hold her. She was a little nervous, but she still seemed to love seeing all the characters, though, as long as she didn’t get too close. I think my daughter’s favorite part may have been getting her face painted like the Cat in the Hat at Universal, haha.
We just took our kids to Disney world in February and it was a perfect time to go. The weather was in the 70’s. There weren’t as many lines. We also used an app that told us what the wait was for the rides. It was such a great little vaca!
What a wonderful trip! So fun! I love your dd’s top and your dress. Do you mind telling where the dress is from? I want one!
I just about cried when your little girl ran into Minnie Mouse’s arms! So precious. It is those types of moments that we cherish forever.
One of the most amazing trips I had when my son was 4 (four years ago) was to Disney Land. You are so right there is something very magical there for children (and adults). The staff are fantastic and so well trained. Awesome photos
this made me tear up! we are taking my son who is 3.5 in September and I would LOVE to do a video like this! could you share how you did it and edited it? I’m not very tech savvy. any tips would be greatly appreciated!!! π
