My Everyday Style vol.1

01.21.135 copy

Here we go! The first real outfit picture after having Finley. I am going to rename these posts from “Style Files” to “My Everyday Style”- it just seems more fitting. I wrote last week that my goal is to refocus my outfit posts. I want them to be more about what really works as a busy Mom. Sometimes that means skirts, but most times that means jeans and easy to wear shoes.

I am pretty much in love with these studded sneakers! Have you jumped on the wedge sneaker trend? I am not sure how I feel about the whole thing, but add some studs to sneakers and I am all over that! Plus, these shoes zip up the side so I don’t even have to tie them. Yes. I am that lazy. I wear a lot of loose layers these days since I pretty much feel like a milking machine everyday. My daily uniform seems to be a fitted tank and a loose top that is easy to pull up and nurse under. I hate those nursing capes so if I don’t have to use one than that’s a win in my book.

I have been a long time lurker and I have to say this is hands down my favorite look (not that I didn’t love your previous outfits). This one just screams JEN! to me. You look so casual and comfortable. I love it! And I find it a inspiring! This is something I would actually wear! If this is direction you plan to move with your outfits, count me in! I am officially de-lurking! πŸ™‚

  7. WHO is able to do any kind of style post within weeks of giving birth!?? You are amazing! πŸ™‚
I love the look–and it’s exactly how I’ve been living for many yearsÒ€¦I wouldn’t trade it for anything!

  9. I liked the post last week, and I want to say I like this one as well. You look adorable, and I like the fact that its practical for your daily life and what you’re really wearing. I have a nine month old, and I always wondered how you did the skirts and heels at home crawling all over the floor. Maybe it was easier with just one? I don’t know- this just seems really honest, fun, and adorable. I like the change.

  10. You look great! For the record, I am (unfortunately) anti-wedge sneaker. I did have a pair of heeled ones in the 90s that I thought were very Janet Jackson but I only wore them once or twice before I realized that I was no Janet. Nowadays I stick to Topsiders or Chuck Taylors but your adorable styling might be able to sway me to the studded/glittery side of shoe life. πŸ™‚

  11. Great look! I’d love to know what brands of tanks / nursing tops you use — I’m due any day now and am trying to figure that out!

  12. You look great, I wish my every style was half as good as yours.

  13. Love this look! You are one hip mama. Those sneakers rock πŸ™‚

  14. I’m totally on board with wedge sneakers, but I adore these studded kicks too!!

  15. you look great! comfy. the perfect style for a mom on the go πŸ˜‰

  16. LOVE. Your everyday kind of style is my favorite. Often when I see style posts from moms, I want to call BS on them actually wearing those outfits in real life, doing activities with their kids. Dress-up photo shoots are fun I’m sure, but I like seeing realistic outfits that won’t have a mom wobbling in heels in the grass/sand or flashing the world when she bends over. It’s totally possible to look amazing while dressing appropriately for what the day entails! Lord knows we have enough wardrobe changes just for the little ones, right? πŸ˜‰

Jen, you look fantastic! Congrats again on your newest little lady.

ps – Does Rowan love the zippers on that blazer? My toddler would be fascinated!

  17. You look super awesome! love the shoes! Beautiful as always! πŸ™‚

  18. Wow you look so GOOD! I love this post and can’t wait for more everyday style. I am having my first baby girl in about 2 weeks, so I’ll need lots of inspiration in this category! I can’t wait to go shopping again without a belly!

  19. You look great! I saw that blazer on clearance at Target too, but passed on it. You’re making me rethink that decision, though!

  20. Dang girl! I hope I look that good after I have my second kid!

  21. Ooh I have been hoping that jacket would go on clearance! I’ll have to head to Target this week. I want those shoes now too haha

  22. You look great. And I love those shoes are Target. I will have to check them out.

  23. you look fab…can’t believe you just had a lil one! bravo to you.

  24. I love this look and those studded sneakers are faaaabulous! You’re one gorgeous mama!

  25. You’re looking great, and i love the sneakers!

  26. I really love those sneakers! I hope target still has them when it finally makes its way up into Edmonton.

  27. ahhhhh!!!! i so wish i would’ve seen this 8 years ago when i was in your same position. but i am thankful that you are inspiring a ton of other moms and soon to be moms with your style πŸ™‚

  28. You look flippin’ amazing Mama! Love that blazer, can’t believe it’s from Target! And those sneakers are perfection.

    xx, Katrina

  29. You look great!
There are two trends I cannot get on board with right now. 1. The Wedge Sneaker and 2. Wearing ankle boots with zippers unzipped

Congrats on your new baby girl. Finley is beautiful. I love your style and I’m so excited for these new everyday style posts. As a mom of 3 young ones I spend a lot of time in flats and skinny jeans. Looking forward to seeing more of your mom everyday wear. You look adorable. Love the sneakers!

  32. I’ve been working the same combo for 3 months now. tight tank plus loose top works perfect for nursing or pumping! looking great!!

  34. Oh man, the triangles aren’t really there?! I’m shattered, ha ha. You should totally paint some on (you know, with all your current free time). Can I also say how awesome you look? Totally put together and yet totally comfortable. Stripes are my bestie and I love the pop of colour. xx
