Painted Onesie…

onesie

I’ve been on a mission lately to make some clothes for the new baby. I am not confident about sewing outfits, so I’ve been thinking of other ways to create some special little things for her. I loved the video The Girls With Glasses made a while back and thought I would make some of my own. I wanted to go for more of a watercolor feel so I added water to my paint. I love the unexpected bleed throughs it made under the tape.

We painted onsies at my friend’s baby shower. She had a variety of sizes so I think her little girl (9 mos) is still wearing some of them!

  11. Awww, that’s actually super, super cute! I saw your tweet on how all infant clothes is ugly, and i love the little felt details you added. i love the bleed-throughs too, it adds some quirk 🙂

  12. I want to make this in a big girl size for me. Probably not a onsie though… I don’t think I can pull that look off anymore. lol!

I really like the watercolor effect. There is something so soothing about it.

  13. Jen – you are so creative. It’s awesome!! I absolutely love how this project turned out and the little embellishments could not be more perfect. Yay, for getting ready for baby number two!! xo V

  14. great idea! what kind of paint should i use? are these safe on babies skin? water/laundry proof? sorry, new to this craft business! thanks!

  15. These looks great! Have you tried washing them yet? Did you need to seal the paint or anything?

  16. Love these! But then, I’m a sucker for anything with stripes on. Heh. I love the fact that the lines aren’t perfect. I might just have to use this on some of my own clothing…
