As you can tell I am taking full advantage of a little Christmas break. Next week we will be back to normal around here, but for now I am just popping in to share some holiday instagrams. Our Christmas was fantastic and horrible all at the same time. Fantastic of course, because we were surrounded with family and had such a wonderful time. Horrible, because Rowan and I were extremely sick. Rowan came down with a terrible, super high fever last week which left her with a crazy rash. The doctor still isn’t sure if it was a reaction to the antibiotic she was on for her double ear infection or if it was just Roseola. Either way, it left us with a baby who wouldn’t eat, who was inconsolably irritable and who had an awful runny nose. Both of us are on the mend, but I kind of wish we could have a Christmas do over. I hate being sick on Christmas!
Next week I have some blog changes to share with you. The New Year means lots of new changes!!
Looks like a wonderful vacation! I’m glad you had a relaxing time. Can’t wait to see the new blog changes. xo, rv

On the bright side, Rowan did look super cute on Christmas ๐ Hope you and her feel better. If we were neighbors, I would have a nice hearty vegetarian chili over for you!
poor you guys!! we had the same kinda thing going down here. Neo was teething and had a stinking cold which made him sooo ratty and grumpy and hubs had it too. we made do, but know what you mean. wish we were all in higher spirits.
Looking forward to your “changes” next week ๐
Merry Christmas Jen! I hope you and Rowan are feeling better.
aww, jen, I wanted to tell you that I sent the bunting necklace I bought from you to my 16 year old penpal in Taiwan (I was a counselor at a learning camp she was in at Cornell a few years back and she still keeps in touch) along with some other things for Christmas. She loves it SO much and told me its just so beautiful. I’m so glad she likes it.
Happy New Year to you and your family!
Adorable pictures! Glad you and little Rowan are feeling better now! Send you a big hug, happy new year’s!

Jen, I love love love your blog, you’re such a cute mom and blogger and fashionista. Hope you’re feeling better. Happy holidays! … Quick question. Did you make those really cool paper trees? they’re awesome!
I’m sorry you and little Rowan were sick. She looks adorable in her Christmas dress. I am loving the Foofa doll. My 11 month old, Audrey, would love it! :o) Hope you’re recovering well.
your little rowan is so cute in her shiny christmas dress! and your pointy black fats are cute. i love a good pair of flats!
feel better and enjoy the break =)
I really hope you all are on the mend soon.. being sick is no fun especially during xmas ๐ speaking of changes, when I started reading your blog I really appreciated your thriftiness in creating amazing outfits. it seems like lately your ratio to outfits that are “c/o” or sponsored is getting to be more and more. i understand that’s probably how this blog is possible these days with you staying home with rowan but I for one as a loyal reader can’t afford $200 dresses and $300 coats.
i continue to read cause your family is adorable and you seem so sweet… best of luck to you and your family in 2012 ! ๐
Love all of these little Xmas moments with you & your family Jen, so adorable! And enjoy the little break – it’s so nice to do this time of year! Also, can’t wait to see the blog changes, sounds super exciting… I always love everything that you do!! xo veronika

Hope you all had a Happy New Year!
Oh, I love Instagram pictures! They make even the simplest of pictures so beautiful and creative.
I’m sorry to hear about your sickness on Christmas, but sadly I can relate. I was sick on Christmas and Christmas only. Out of every day of winter break I was sick on Christmas day. I was perfectly fine on Christmas Eve and perfectly healthy the day after Christmas. But on Christmas I couldn’t eat anything but pretzels, crackers, and seltzer (or some other weird bubbly liquid/beverage that I forgot the name of). I spent the day lying on the sofa feeling terrible. All in all, it wasn’t too bad. I saw family and got many wonderful gifts.
My aunt jokingly said that we should have a another Christmas where we could sit around, eat, and chat and I wouldn’t be sick. So pretty much Christmas but without the presents. It’s kinda funny how you mentioned something similar!
It seems like a few other people were sick on Christmas too, like my piano teacher.
I hope you’re feeling better. Happy New Year. ๐
