Craftin’ up a storm…

Hi Everyone! Lately, I have been trying not have my nose stuck in the computer all day (as well as twitter, instagram, etc.) I’m starting to revaluate what I want to spend my day doing and how I use my time. Sometimes the business of blogging can weigh you down and cloud your focus. My stress level has been heavy on my shoulders and I am trying to spend more time doing hands on projects. I am really excited where this new focus will take this blog. Look for some new things popping up here and there over the next little while.

One of the things I have been working on is making some items for my etsy shop. Remember when I use to make all kinds of stuff for there? It seems so long ago. Anyway, I am loving these new bunting flag necklaces I made last week. There will be an esty shop update really soon… Stay Tuned!!

What do you think?

  1. cute! I would definitely buy one

  2. I think those are gorgeous. And I think I definitely want one!

  3. So cute. Excited to see what you come up with next!

  4. I love these! I saw them on someone else’s blog who you gifted them to (it escapes my memory now!), and automatically fell in love. I know what you mean about reorganizing and prioritizing for hands-on activities. I’ve been doing the same — embroidery and friendship bracelets and dusting off my sewing machine! Yay crafting ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. These are gorgeous. I would absolutely buy one.

  6. Awe so cute! Love the blues and green version! I’d definitely wear!

  23. I love these! Definitely possibly I’d buy one! GORGEOUS.

  24. really cute! i think I like the non-glitter ones the best.

you know, lately I’ve noticed a lot of my favorite bloggers kind of “taking stock” and trying to change their focus a little bit. I think it’s a really good thing and I find it really fascinating that a lot of people are feeling the same way lately. it’s always good for your soul (and your eyes!) to spend a little time away from the screen.

  25. I love them all, though the non-glitter ones the most!

  26. so cute! totally going to buy one when they go up!

  27. I love these. Gives me inspiration to try something like this myself.
I hear you about the Blogging life getting you down and out when it comes to being creative and hands-on. I let myself get lost in material, glue and jewels at least once a week.

Great Necklaces, looking forward to seeing them on your ETSY Shop soon.

Jen, I’m so glad you posted this because you mentioned your Etsy shop. Can you please make your lovely tunnel scarfs again? I missed out last Fall/Winter and would really love one this year. Thanks.

  31. I love the first one! such a great selection of colors.

I’m stoked that you’re crafting more, I love your work.

  32. LOVE! I’d totally buy one ๐Ÿ™‚

  33. Oooo I love those!

  34. sooooo cute!!!!! you should definitely sell these! i love everything you make ๐Ÿ™‚

  35. Make LOTS!! They are very cute! I want one! Every time you would sell your pins, cowls, etc on Etsy they were sold out before I could buy ๐Ÿ™

  36. Oh Jen! So Cute!

Enjoy this time of getting back to what you love and what thrills you!! Life will be new again ๐Ÿ˜€

  37. I love them! I look forward to fall and winter every year just so I can wear the cowl scarf I got in your etsy shop ๐Ÿ™‚

  38. These are great!

I hear ya! I recently realized that my face is in a screen all day between work, blogging, reading blogs, face booking and tweeting….we just implemented a technology blackout in my house. Everyday when we all get in the house after work/school our cell phones, iPods etc go in a basket until 7, so we all actually interact and do something with our time bulbs playing with electronics!

  39. I LOVE THEM!!! WANT WANT WANT!!! hehe.

By the way, i totally get where you’re at. I’m trying to do that more now too. I worry about how addictive it is – and that i may miss out on real life.

  40. cute! I love the sparkly ones. I actually just started making leather and fabric bunting necklaces too for my shop. They’re too stinkin fun!

  41. I hope I am quick enough to snatch one of these up once you list them for sale!

  42. I like those a lot. I tend to wear a lot of low-cut things to minimize my bust, and one of those would look really nice breaking up the expanse of skin.

I’m glad you’re thinking of some new blog ideas. I don’t really like seeing a ton of “branding” kinda posts where the blogger is working with a company or wearing a “courtesy of _____ ” outfit. I understand the need to do that when you blog for a living but I much prefer the more personal posts!

LOVE THEM! first one is my favorite too

  44. maybe you could volunteer / teach a community art class for kids? that way you aren’t in front of the computer all day / in the house, and you are helping the community!

  45. love ’em! so summery to me:)

  46. These are awesome!!! Looking forward to the update!!!
