I wanted to share a few things with you all. Lately, I have been missing more of a creative outlet. I miss painting, I miss cooking fancier meals, I miss creating things. I miss it a lot. When we brought Rowan home, that side of me just got pushed to the side. There is just not enough time in the day. Now that she is a little older, I think I would like to make some time in our day to be creative. I want to share more of that on here. I want to get back into the habit of posting Last Night’s Dinner posts, more DIY and more thoughtful motherhood post etc… There will always be outfit posts. I love doing those but I would like there to be a better balance.
I hope you won’t mind!
I painted these 2 paintings about 3 years ago. I had a solo art show in East Hampton, and was showing a series that including these two. They are some of my most favorite pieces. Here are 2 posts from way back of some of my artowrk, remember this one, or this one?
Here are my favorites from this week…
1. Hello Mustache Baking Pan! I want to make a cake right this instant.
2. I know everyone and their mother loves this little family, but it makes me so happy to see them growing together each day.
3. Love this pretty geode necklace. Such a cool shape and color.
4. Welcome to the Delightful Dozen Katy! I am totally loving this outfit of hers.
5. Yes, once again Ruche has put out a blow your socks off, amazing lookbook. Like seriously, you should check it out…
6. Love these super cute prints. They are perfect for the kitchen. So fun!
7. I LOVE smoothies. Especially when they are healthy for you. Who said being healthy couldn’t taste good. Try this Chocolate, peanut butter Smoothie.
8. This Romper is so darling, I can hardly stand it.
9. This ring is seriously killing me. So awesome.
10. And last but not least. To get everyone a little inspired an Abstract Art DIY. Very awesome.
Wow you are so talented! Great paintings and I’m in love with that tree you made in one of the linked posts.
On the contrary, I love your dinner/art posts. Thanks so much for the art DIY link! My apartment has huge white walls and I’m not allowed to paint them (renting). I was thinking of asking my mom to create some abstract paintings for me to get some colour. She used to be quite good at painting & drawing in high school but she’s never done anything abstract, this link will get her started I hope (go mom 😀 )
And the moustache pan is awesome, I’ve been craving chocolate cake all week and this looks like the perfect vessel.
great work. I love the textures and layers of the pieces!
You should start selling your art on Esty! Those are some beautiful pieces.
Holy moly, back up the train! So I am new to your blog, like within the past month new, so I’ve really just seen the outfit posts (which I love) but you also have all this other creative talent?!!! I am so excited to see more of what you create you are truly inspiring Jen! And definitely more motherhood posts, I’ve been feeling incredibly compelled to share some of my thoughts on mommyhood, too.
I am thrilled to see you unleash your creative side on us! As a mother, I’m excited to read anything about life with kids! And finally, wow! You are talented! I am especially in love with that lamppost painting!

These pieces are great, I wish I had artistic talent like you!

We recently brought our 3rd addition into the family (well, recently, as in the same time as Rowan) and as an aspiring illustrator, I was feeling the same way. Illustration Friday is an awesome outlet. I’ve made a routine of letting my 3 yr old paint at the table with me while I work on my own pieces each morning before breakfast.
Your work is AMAZING. I would love to see much, much more!
I don’t have a baby and I still can’t find time to make art for myself! We art teachers give too much of ourselves to the kids….
Wow, that’s your artwork? It’s awesome! I started reading your blog more recently, so I haven’t had a chance to see many of your art and cooking posts. I feel like we can never get enough time for creative outlets. I hope you can find the time your soul craves. I know we all will enjoy reading about it!
Love, Emily
