Yay!! The long weekend is almost here! I shared some of these photos over on the Delightful Dozen blog today, but wanted to share here as well. Are you excited for the 4th of July? I love the 4th. I love that it instantly makes it feel like summer. We are headed to Cape Cod for a Beach BBQ! I seriously can’t wait!

When I got this dress in the mail, I knew it would be perfect for a 4th of July post. I love to play the part for holidays. Dressing up in the matching color scheme. Never tacky though, just subtle. I loved pairing this red belt and thrifted hat with the dress. It really pulled it all together.

  1. That dress is amazing!! in so many ways.

I have a lot of great outfits planned over the weekend. Most of my wardrobe is red, white, and blue. But I’m most excited to wear my red highwaisted shorts.

  2. I LOVE today’s look and I am OBSESSED with the striped dress with petie pan collar in Paris………..O.B.S.E.S.S.E.D!!! 🙂 -e

  3. weird…i just realized the other comment was from erin too! :o..

  4. You look too cute. It is like the sexier Pollyanna. I hope you enjoy Cape Cod!

  5. wow! those pleats are fantastic, what a fun little dress. have a great 4th!

  6. You look so cute and vintage. Seriously, this is like an outfit that Anne Shirley would wear to a picnic to eat ice cream and drink lemonade. You better start practicing for a tthree-legged race. Oh, and I totally agree, dressing up in red, white, and blue for the 4th is lots of fun, and it is even more fun to find a subtle way to do it.

  7. Oh my, the side pleating on this dress is just divine…! Love it with those wedges and the hat. Certainly summer chic.

I normally go with a subdued patriotic color theme for the 4th, but I always wear my flag Cons. Can’t justify have them taking up room in my closet if I don’t wear them at least once a year!

  8. Wow, this is just gorgeous. I love your dress and how you styled it with the red belt, it adds a really nice pop of color. 🙂

  9. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, you pull off outfits that I could NEVER! And yet they look UHHHMazing on you!
    SO. CUTE.

  18. This is SO Madeline in the best of ways! 🙂

  19. Great colour scheme! It would be fun to add a ribon to the hat too. My father’s friend has a house on Cape Cod, I hope to visit someday as it sounds like a beautiful place. I hope you have nice weather!

  20. I love that you added some curly hair and red lipstick to this outfit… it’s really adorable!

  22. Your dress is adorable, you look so lovely and summer-y! I’m in Australia so no celebrations here, but it looks like a lot of fun from all the blogs I’ve been reading! x

  23. I love this outfit! I think the skinny red belt just pulls everything together so well. And I wish I could pull off a hat like that 🙂 I have to say that the first picture in this post is incredible – like something straight out of a magazine, or better even.
Hope you had a great long week-end!
