$50 Photos to Art.com Giveaway

Screen shot 2011-01-25 at 2.48.22 PM
I was really excited when Art.com approached me to do a review of their new service Photos to Art. If there is one thing I love- it’s Photos. I always want things documented and then I love getting the pictures framed and placing them around our apartment. It makes it feel like home. Art.com was kind enough to give me a gift certificate to use to try out the service.

I thought the site was very easy to use. You can upload any pictures you would like and then see how they would look in each of the print choices they have. I am not a huge fan of photos printed on canvas but that is just me. I absolutely LOVE the acrylic option but it is a little pricey. I went with the wood mounted choice. It “permanently bonds images to a 1/4 inch thick piece of stabilized hardboard. The surface is treated to protect against moisture, dust, dirt, fingerprints, and protects against UV comparable to standard glass.” I ordered 2 wood mounted prints. One 16″x24 and one 11″x14″. They arrived very quickly and were protectively shipped. I was so excited to open them up. I LOVE them!!! They came out great. I will definitely be using art.com again to get photos turned into wall art. I think it will be a great present idea for future birthdays and mothers (grandmothers) day.
Anyways. Art.com would like to offer a $50 gift code to one lucky reader to use to create their own photos to art print. All you need to do is head over to Art.com, check things out and leave a comment letting us know what print choice is your favorite (wood mounting, canvas, acrylic, etc.). Any ideas of what you want printed? We’d love to hear in your comment as well!

The giveaway will run from now until next Monday. Winner will be randomly chosen and emailed Monday evening.
Good Luck!

  27. Honestly, I like a lot of them, but the wood ones are just spectacular – fingers crossed!!!

  28. I love the wood, it has the feel of cabin life which I adore. I would put up one of the pictures from my families trip to Italy a few years ago – they make me happy every time.

  29. I have been searching for a place that does photo to wood prints! Love this!!!

  30. your wood mounted prints are so pretty…so I think I’d go with that! I’m not sure the photo I’d choose…maybe one of my sis and her fiance since they are getting married in a couple months? It would probably make a pretty sweet wedding gift!

  34. I just adore the look of the wood mounting!

  35. Bethany G. •

I’ve always wanted to see one of my photos on canvas. As a photographer, I think I’d have an incredibly hard time choosing. It would probably be a shot of some gorgeous flowers, Washington, DC, or birds flying in the sky. Oh, the possibilities! 🙂

  36. love this! i really like how the wood mounting looks!

  37. I loooove how your prints came out! I think I’d have to go with the wood printing also. As for the photo… I’m not too sure. Maybe a scenery/landscape shot from vacation…

  38. awesome giveaway!
Love the canvas mounting. I would probably make a picture collage/illustration for the kids room!

  39. I’m a big fan of the wood mounted option as well. It’s clean and simple. After 2 years of being with my love we still don’t have any framed or mounted photographs of us together.

  40. It seems the wood mounted takes the cake, and I love how yours look. I think I would go that route too and get a picture of my dog in a bowtie mounted. Hes adorable when you can get him to sit still long enough to take a picture!

  41. fun! I would agree on the wood mounted – looks nice and clean and crisp! thanks! I’ll be crossing my fingers! (and toes..and arms..and legs..)

  42. I’m liking the wood mounted option. Would be a great valentines day gift!

  43. I agree with you about the canvas prints, not my favorite. But the wood looks awesome! That is definitely what I would do if I win the $50!

  44. i love the acrylic! i would get a picture of my boyfriend and i from two christmases ago. it’s a perfect picture and i’ve been trying to think of a perfect way to display it. 🙂

  45. I’ve been wanting to do a canvas print for a while for my art wall!

  46. I would definitely go the wood mounting route. It is not something that many other sites offer.

  47. love the wood mount, i love your photos!!

  48. Megan R •

  49. I love the photos you chose to turn into prints! They are both such precious moments and they came out so well. I think you were right to go with the wood mounting, its so clean and classic. I would definitely choose the wood mounting for a print. I love this giveaway!

  50. Margaret •

Wow, your pictures turned out great! The black & white is really nice on that wood mounting. After visiting the site, I think I would go with the wood mounting… I like it because it looks simple and classic. My husband and I have been wanting to get a really large print of a waterlily photo we took on a trip once to put up in our bedroom! That’s what I would do if I won.

  51. Jennifer •

Ohh I love the wood mounted! I have no idea what I would get printed though – maybe a photo of my new baby niece.

  52. I’d love to send one of these printed on canvas to my mom. She just decided to repaint her hallways and it’s be great to give her something to hang up on her new walls!!

  53. That is awesome! I love the acrylic, or after seeing your two photos, the wood mounting looks great too!

  54. You’re right, the acrylic is gorgeous, but I I do also really like the canvas and wood options. It’s hard to decide which I like better. I’d probably do something black and white and put it in the room where all our books are. This is a great giveaway!

  55. Love the framed canvas!

  56. I love art.com. This is awesome! I’d love to have a family photo done! It’s been a rough year and I’m so appreciative of my husband and pets.

  57. I think wood mounting for photos looks awesome – I would love some prints of my new baby!

  58. Wow those turned out amazing! Very beautiful. I adore the acrylic print but I think the wood mounting is a really cool idea. I’d love to get this one picture of me and my son Oliver, 1 hour after he was born. He looks so beautiful in it and it’d be a great memory to have mounted as art! : )

  59. I love the wood mounting and I have the perfect classic wedding picture of my husband and I walking out of the church that would look just lovely!

  60. i love the wood option, this would (no pun intended) be great for a bunch of great shots I took in Ireland over the summer!

  61. natalie •

i love the canvas option…..definitely a picture of my little man

  62. I would totally get the wood mounted print. I love that style and it holds up well. We had our baby boy in April and I would love to get a nice print to hang on our walls.

  63. I have so many of my own photographs framed…and let’s be serious, it is an annoyingly time consuming process to do it myself and do it correctly. But custom framing is so expensive!

I would pick the classic frame for more of my own photos. You can see them here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/julia_d/

    Thanks for the opportunity!!

  64. I think I like the wood mounting best. I would love to be able to get a picture of our baby (once s/he comes in August) printed out.

  72. lindsay •

    I love the canvas print.
My boyfriend’s brother is an amazing photographer and there’s a photo of his i would LOVE to hang over our bed.

  73. Honestly, I don’t have a favorite. I love them all for different reasons and I have different pictures in mind for each print style….is that bad?

  74. i would choose wood mounting- so awesome!!

  75. oh, i definitely need a picture for my mantel. thanks for posting about this site.

  76. The wood mounted prints seem awesome. I like that they are so durable.

  77. I love the wood mounted options!

  78. Lindsey •

Oooh!! What a great offer. I’ve been on the lookout for a good place to get some photos from Russia printed on (sorry, Jen:) canvas as souvenirs for family. I just absolutely love the look!

  79. Definitely the wood mounted, I am not a fan of photos on canvas either! I would probably pick a picture of my family, my cat or a landscape! all would be gorgeous.

I love this giveaway idea, and this shop! I work at a photography studio and it is SO expensive to get photos on canvas or even just on gator board. This shop is a much more affordable option!

  80. I would love love love a large, beautiful canvas to show off a favorite wedding picture. My first anniversary comes up in May, but my husband deploys this month, so I won’t get to share it with him. This would be a nice anniversary present to myself.
    : P

  81. Kristin •

I really like the wood mounted option! Not sure what I would choose to print, but this would come in handy when I move into my new apartment in a few weeks!

  82. The wood mounting is my favorite!

I would pick out a photo of my boyfriend and I since we don’t have many photos framed.

  84. Your photos came out great! 🙂 I agree, the wood mounting is my favorite.

  85. I like all the options, but perhaps the wood mounted and canvas the best.

    Great ideas!

  86. I love the wood mounting, although the acrylic looks really cool too!

Truth be told, we don’t have a single picture of us up. We’ve been together 10 years, married for 4, but have never gotten past hanging just art and mirrors.

    One day.

  87. Wow, that would be lovely!

  88. i’m kind of all about the canvas.
and since i’m single right now (the only ‘male’ companion i have being my laptop, chuck, who is obediently attached to my hip) and spend most of my days blogging, i’d love to blow up a black and white picture of myself that i have taken while practicing being my own site’s sole photographer. selfish? maybe a little, but hey, i AM single, right? 😉

  89. I really like the canvas! My housemates and I foster cats for my local animal rescue, and I’d love to wall-mount a photo of my very first foster cat. The nice canvas version would replace the cheaply framed photo I have hanging there. 🙂

  90. I’ve been meaning to get some of my travel pictures printed on canvas for a while. I hadn’t seen the wood mounting options yet, but I think I like those even better.

  91. I would love to try the acrylic mounting for a very modern and bright photo!

  92. I’m surprised that the wood mounting turned out so crisp. The look beautiful! I’ve always wanted a few pretty large canvas prints of my kids for our living room or possible up our staircase… or my studio… Okay, I can’t decide!! But I’d go with canvas. 🙂

  93. Catherine •

I like the wood option that you chose. I have a few posters mounted that way, and it’s a great way to mix things up, so not everything in the house is framed too similarly. It really highlights the art/photos themselves. I would love to get a few photos the beach near my parents house in New Jersey and Ithaca (where I went to college) – I moved to Canada a couple years ago, and while I love it here, some reminders of home are always good.

  94. Those look wonderful! I’d love to get a print or two

  95. I love wood mounting. Some of my favorite pics of all time are wood mounted!

  96. I LOVE the wood mounting. I should really do this with wedding photos. Still haven’t gotten around to that…oops!

  98. Heather •

I love the wood mounting, too. My boyfriend just got back from Afghanistan so I finally moved in and am helping him become a more hip, stylish home owner. I would probably take my own picture (I love sun sets!) and use that 🙂

  99. I really like the wood framing you did! Those photos are precious!

If I won, I’d love to buy a print of me and my husband on our wedding day, since my mother insisted on keeping all our large prints when I moved out LOL

Like you, I would choose the wood mounted photo. The only photo I have of my little family of 3 that I have up is from almost 4 years ago so I would choose a recent family picture.

  116. heather •

The acrylic option looks so professional, but I do love the canvas as well. I would love to get some of my pictures of Montana into my new Boston apartment – just a small but special reminder of where I came from.
