It was been a very wintery week so far. Snow. Sleet. Freezing temps and some very grey days. I have not felt much like dressing up. I’ve spent most of my days at home hanging out with baby and drinking tea. Today, I had to go run some errands and I decided to just take a picture of my typical go to winter weather outfit. Boots. Coat. Jeans. Scarf. I wear my coat all the time. Even inside. I get so comfy, I never want to take it off. I usually hear the words “why don’t you take off your coat and stay awhile” a lot in the winter months.
A little while ago I was lucky enough to win a Sorel Winter Weather contest over on Lucky Style Spotter. I got a gift card to use on some new boots and I was able to get a couple pairs for me and a matching pair for Kev. Let’s just say my feet have never been warmer. They very much appreciate these awesome boots!
Coat: Converse/Target

Such a cute winter look! Next year I’m definitely buying those same Sorel’s you have on and a long coat like that too. I can get through the rest of the winter with what i have, but I think next year I’ll be due for an overhaul.
I love Sorel boots; this is the first year I indulged in a pair and my feet have never been happier!
LOVE the boots. They look so toasty!
I know how you feel about wanting to keep on you winter coat, it’s just so cozy! I love the fur cowl with it too.
Just came across your blog, I love it! Can’t wait to read more of it.
Actually, I think that is a very cute outfit!
I was wondering who takes your photos? They are very well done and picturesque.
Super great winter look. It’s so fun seeing what people are wearing in “real life” it’s the day to day moments that we all dress for -oh and cute pics too.
Love that cowl! I saw one at Talbots and almost picked it up…
Hi Jen! I want the same pair of Sorel boots you have on! Are they under the Women’s cateogry or the Men’s? If they are Men’s, how did you convert the size?
I’ve heard Sorels are warm. I love the fur!
Sorels are a must. Lucky lucky you!
I love the way you’re right in front of the tree.. it looks like a big icy peacock tail! I love winter pictures.
See you tomorrow at the swap! 🙂
I got my first pair of Sorel’s for Christmas and I love them. Oh, and I didn’t comment on your last post, but have to say that video made my day. She’s such a little doll!
Those boots are crucial to keeping your toes toasty during the winter! (uggs are not appropriate for wet winters!)

You look so cozy! Love your cowl!
I have that coat too! The hood is so massive, I should try a fur cowl with it!
My husband teases me to put on my seatbelt when I’m bundling up in it.
🙂
So cute! Makes me think I wanna get some bright yellow or orange laces for my trusty Bean boots and make ’em pop. Between this and Rowan’s adorable cupcake hat, la familia Jen has winter style down pat!
Great collar! Looks nice. 🙂

love the outfit. The cowel and the glasses are amazing! It’s geek chic meets nanook of the north. perfection.
I’m obsessed with your coat! Great fit. Love your style! xo, Claudia
Pretty much my uniform too. I live in Maine, so its all about my LLBean puffy coat (warmest thing on planet earth) and boots!
Adore the fur cowl!
Laura
Those boots are super cute! I have a pair just like them, and like you prefer them unlaced ; ) Your cowel is cute too, you make having to be outside look good!
LOVE that cowl scarf, wish i snagged one for myself! And nice – boots, they look super practical.
I’ve been eyeing Sorel boots (used on Ebay) for the past few months and I think I’m finally gonna commit to getting some. I think they’re so cute in a backwoods fisherman sort of way. 😉 Enjoy your snow day out there in Western Mass — I’m snowed in in Central Mass.
Hey Jen,
just leaving a comment here because I have a question about your maternity style posts. I thought you looked wonderful throughout your pregnancy and rocked those maternity style files 🙂
I’m pregnant now and blogging about it on http://www.academichic.com. We have a number of pregnant readers interested in maternity style and inspiration and I’m curating a post with resources linking to all the awesome style bloggers who’ve blogged through their pregnancy, who I’m aware of.
I’d like to include you in that list but can’t figure out a good way to link directly to all your maternity style files on your site. I tried looking for tags or categories that pulls out just your maternity posts and can’t seem to find any. Is there any way that I could link to JUST the maternity style posts as to make it easy for readers to get directly to those on your site?
Thanks so much for considering my request!

I just wish I could pull off the big glasses as well as you do.
