Blogging Issues and a Survey

DSCN3995
Alright, I have been having some blogging issues. Well, more like a lack of photoshop issue. I haven’t been able to edit all the raw files from the camera. It’s funny how blogging becomes so much a part of your life and when something is keeping you from it, how much stress it causes (nerdy I know). I have backed up baby week posts, style files, Year in review recaps, and a last nights dinner that was suppose to be posted but I just cant get to them. So, while I step away till Monday and wait for Photoshop to get installed on my new MacBook Pro (Kev got me a new laptop for christmas!!) I need some help from you guys…

2011 is upon us and I have some new ideas for the blog, but I was hoping you could help me out a little by answering a few questions.

1. How often do you read jenloveskev?

2. What is your favorite part of jenloveskev?

3. What is your least favorite part (constructive criticism please- don’t be mean)

4. What would you like to see more of?

5. Any suggestions for making the actual blog more functional? (I am hoping for a sweet redesign sometime in the new year)

6. Would you be interested in following a jenloveskev inspirational tumblr site? (its in the works hopefully ready to debut on Monday)

7. How long have you been reading and how did you found out about this blog?

8. Do you like that jenloveskev is more than just a fashion blog? Do you enjoy reading about my other interests?

9. Do you like when there is a schedule for the week? (ex. Recipe on Tuesday, Baby week photos on Thursday, outfit posts daily) or does it not matter?

10. Umm, Any other thoughts you have to make jenloveskev an even better experience? Ill listen to any suggestions. Heres your chance. Feel free to answer all or just a few of the above questions. I really appreciate the input.

*My Favorite photo of 2010

With that being said, I would just like to say a BIG HUGE thank you to all my readers for making 2010 a year I will never forgot. It has been an amazing journey and I can not wait for what 2011 has in store. Being part of this blogging community has blessed my life in ways I never thought it could. I say it all the time but you guys really are the best! I never ever take for granted any comment, email or tweet that I get. It’s a daily reminder of how awesome you all are. I wish you all a very Happy and Healthy New Year!!!
With lots of Love,
Jen

  1. Kaherine •

    1. Once/ day on weekdays

    2. Honestly, I like the variety. Frequency/consistency of posts is great too!

    3. Nada!

    4. Like I said, I enjoy the variety. I think you have a good balance of fashion/lifestyle/baby.

    6. Yes, yes, yes! I’d love to read more about your inspiration in life, as a fellow Christian. And I’d love the perspective of an artist-someone who is very visual and sees the world in that way. I find so much inspiration in my own life from seeking the beauty, which comes from so many aspects. I love reading about where other people find their inspiration.

    7. 1.5 years? I found out through a friend!

    8. Absolutely. I think your content is great.

    All the best!!

  2. 1. How often do you read jenloveskev? Everyday! I subscribe via Google Reader.

    2. What is your favorite part of jenloveskev? Content, of course! I am planning on moving to Western Mass in the next 3 months and so I like seeing what that part of the country is like for a 20-something. I like that it is a fashion blog that I can relate to. I don’t dress in designer duds and wear stilettos everyday! I’m a regular girl. I like that you’re so open with your readers. You are so sincere in your posts, and without actually knowing you, I feel like I’m getting the real Jen.

    3. What is your least favorite part (constructive criticism please- don’t be mean) Nothing. Really! This is by far one of my favorite blogs, and I subscribe tons of them! I don’t read all of them everyday, but yours is on the top of my list.

    4. What would you like to see more of? I’m not a mother, but I like hearing about motherhood. Also, can we see more of your art? 🙂

    5. Any suggestions for making the actual blog more functional? (I am hoping for a sweet redesign sometime in the new year) Ooh! A redesign is exciting! I already think it looks awesome!

    6. Would you be interested in following a jenloveskev inspirational tumblr site? (its in the works hopefully ready to debut on Monday) Yes, I don’t really use tumblr, but I’d be interested in checking it out.

    7. How long have you been reading and how did you found out about this blog? I couple of months, but I’m not sure exactly when. I don’t remember how I found it. Through another blogger, probably Tieka at Selective Potential.

    8. Do you like that jenloveskev is more than just a fashion blog? Do you enjoy reading about my other interests? Definitely! Actually, the fact that it isn’t strictly a fashion blog is why I adore it so much.

    9. Umm, well any other thoughts you have to make jenloveskev an even better experience? Ill listen to any suggestions. Heres your chance. Feel free to answer all or just a few of the above questions. I really appreciate the input.

Just keep up the good work! I really do enjoy your blog 🙂 Happy New Year!

  3. 1. How often do you read jenloveskev? * I use bloglovin, so whenever there is a new post, I read it! And you are pretty consistent, so I’d say daily!

    2. What is your favorite part of jenloveskev? * I love the variety and how you share all aspects of life. Recipes, life as a wife/mommy, fashion, crafts, etc.

    3. What is your least favorite part (constructive criticism please- don’t be mean). * I don’t think I have a least favorite part. If I had to choose, I’d say the “I’d Wear That” features, but only because they do not have personal pictures! I do enjoy those posts though, so I wouldn’t say get rid of them! 🙂

    4. What would you like to see more of? * Hmm.. well, you do a great job at being balanced with your topics. I love that. So I wouldn’t want to say more of any certain thing, in fear that the other topics would suffer.

    5. Any suggestions for making the actual blog more functional? (I am hoping for a sweet redesign sometime in the new year) * No ideas.. I think it is great! But I’m sure any improvements you had in mind would be great too.

    6. Would you be interested in following a jenloveskev inspirational tumblr site? (its in the works hopefully ready to debut on Monday). * Possibly!! I would definitely add it to my bloglovin feed, so… yeah!

    7. How long have you been reading and how did you found out about this blog? * I found out about your blog when you were featured on What I Wore a few months back. I have been a follower ever since! I even went back and read a bunch of your archives.

    8. Do you like that jenloveskev is more than just a fashion blog? Do you enjoy reading about my other interests? * Yes, definitely!!! It is one of my favorite parts about your blog. It makes it more personal.

    9. Umm, well any other thoughts you have to make jenloveskev an even better experience? Ill listen to any suggestions. Heres your chance. Feel free to answer all or just a few of the above questions. I really appreciate the input. * No suggestions at the moment, but mainly only because I am tired. I love your blog and I feel like I know you. I love how real and personal you are, it sets you apart from other blogs. Keep it up my friend! 🙂 Happy new year!!

  4. 1. I have this on my Google reader, so I read all the new posts daily!
    2. I like that this isn’t all fashion, but I do really like the pictures of your outfits. I really like your style and you give me good ideas for my own wardrobe adventures 🙂
    3. I don’t think I have a least favorite thing… I read this blog because I like it!
    4. I’d actually love to see more of your art here! I haven’t been reading for a *very* long time so perhaps I missed some of that by starting to read in your baby-focused time, but I think that would be cool, you telling us about the things you create.
    5. I don’t know much about website design, but a search box would be a nice addition. It’s not a big deal, but lately I’ve been on a cooking kick and I want to try all your recipes!
    6. Yah I would!
    7. I can’t remember how I found this exactly… I know it was several months ago, and it was because you were featured on something else I read. I also remember that you sent me an e-mail after my first post, which I thought was very kind of you!
    8. Yes! I like that it’s not just outfits because it’s nice and personal. I like that you find all this beauty in your everyday life, it motivates me to find some more in my own!
    9. I don’t really have any other thoughts now… I am a loyal reader, so keep up the great work!

  5. 1. I check for updates daily =)

    2. I just love the variety in your posts, as well as the quantity of them! You do a great job of updating. It’s so sad when I stumble upon a wonderful blog that hardly ever updates, but you’re really consistent with them.

    7. I’ve been reading for about a month now. I stumbled upon your blog from another blog, but I can’t remember which one.

    8. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this! It’s so great to hear about the things in your life that make up you as a person, and not just the outfits you put together. There are so many fashion blogs, but the blogger themselves are what makes each one unique! =D

    9. No suggestions from me! Keep it up!

  6. 1. Whenever you update – you’re on my Google feed 🙂
    2. I love hearing about you, your day, your man and your kiddy, etc etc etc
    3. I find I often skim past your recipes – sorry!
    4. Happy mix to me – maybe more of your art?
    5. Read you on Google feed so no idea! I do love your layout though 🙂
    6. I would defs add it to my feed
    7. Over a 18months? And I can’t remember how I found you! I’m thinking somehow via academichic?
    8. I think your fashion-ness is just the icing on the cake – like I said, love reading about your day 🙂
    9. Nopers 😛

  7. I read JLK every day, and frequently recommend it to others. It’s great to see you styling REAL livable, workable outfits (and I love it when you style an outfit that I already have in my closet). I also love that you aren’t ‘just’ a fashion blog, because the rest of your life is just as inspirational as your wardrobe, though I’m sure you already know that! I guess I’ve been reading for about two years, but I can’t remember how I found you, it’s been too long!

One thing I would loove to see in a redesign is a more functional archive of posts past – perhaps listing entries by most recent (the usual) but also grouping like posts together so we can access, for example, only Last Nights Dinners when we wanna wow our dinner guests! Or only Style Files when we don’t know what to wear to work on a Friday morning (I can’t be the only one..haha).

I really love reading everything that you post – thank you for sharing so openly and genuinely with us, the adoring masses! Keep it up, baby.

  8. 1. How often do you read jenloveskev?

I am subscribed via Bloglovin, so I read every post

    2. What is your favorite part of jenloveskev?

Reading little tidbits of your day/ life!

    3. What is your least favorite part (constructive criticism please- don’t be mean)

Nothing springs to mind. I’m not sure if this is the sort of constructive criticism you’re after in this section, but I do tend to ignore posts that are solely to do with sponsors (this applies to ALL blogs – i.e ‘sponsor spotlights’ – they just don’t capture my interest. So I suppose I wonder if it might be more effective to promote sponsors in a different way? Incorporated into other posts more? Not sure…

    4. What would you like to see more of?

    Not sure!

    5. Any suggestions for making the actual blog more functional? (I am hoping for a sweet redesign sometime in the new year)

Hmm I kind of like having the archive available on the main page of a blog personally…

    6. Would you be interested in following a jenloveskev inspirational tumblr site? (its in the works hopefully ready to debut on Monday)

    Sure would!

    7. How long have you been reading and how did you found out about this blog?

Gosh, quite a long time, I am not sure how long you’ve had this blog but I feel like I’ve been reading a couple of years?? I have also back-read your blog which makes it harder to recall. I guess I found the blog through another blog/blogroll? For some reason whatiwore comes to mind because Jessica’s blog was another one I started reading aaages ago, but then I can’t think of how that would have been as such, so I think that is not correct.

    8. Do you like that jenloveskev is more than just a fashion blog? Do you enjoy reading about my other interests?

Yep, anything goes! I look forward to your posts!

    Happy New Year 🙂

  9. 1)I read just about every new post whenever I notice you’ve got something new up
2)stylefiles! i especially loved when you had the bloggers fill in for your first few weeks with your baby and they modeled outfits based on works of art. i studied art history for years and it was SUCH a wonderful idea. i’m actually working on a few of my own ideas based on this.
    3)honestly I can’t think of anything!
4)your art work! i loved those paintings you made for your church and the cute little headbands you made are beautiful.
5)Its very functional, I love the clean lines and the light colors. Its eye catching.
6)I would absolutely follow your tumblr! Its a great way to share things quickly.
7)About 6 months, I found it through another blog somewhere and stumbled on it and you said you taught art and so does my mom and you really remind me of my mom: crafty, sweet, sincere, super stylish.
8)I hate blogs that are NOTHING but fashion, because that isn’t life! Life is so much more and your blog really captures that.

  10. 1. Whenever you appear in my googlereader!

    2. That you seem quite normal and that your images/backdrops etc don’t seem over-styled or impossible to re-create

    3. Hmm..I haven’t been a long-time reader but the nappy post put me off a little the other day. However, if I were thinking about having a baby I would’ve found it helpful! Scraping the barrel..

    4. Not sure sorry Jen! I like your blog.

    5. I always find blogs with short paragraphs easier to read and I am more likely to engage with them. I think your blog is pretty and clean to look at but usually just read it via google reader so don’t look at the actual site much.

    6. Sure.

    7. I’ve been reading since..after June ( I just checked through your April- June photos and I haven’t seen any of them! I found out via Kendi I think.

8.Yep! It makes you a human being and interesting!

Keep doing what you’re doing – your blog is never scrolled over!

  11. 1. How often do you read jenloveskev?
Every time you update, if that doesn’t seem stalkerish haha!

    2. What is your favorite part of jenloveskev?
Updates on your daughter. I’m a mom so that’s seriously what interests me. Especially since she is like a week or 2 younger than my little girl. 🙂

    3. What is your least favorite part (constructive criticism please- don’t be mean)
I’ll sometimes read your style files but I’m not a huge fan of ‘what I wore’ posts, and its not just your blog, lol I just don’t read them in general. Probably because I’m not that into fashion. But I will say this, you do have cute outfits lol!

    4. What would you like to see more of?
    Hmm not sure tbh lol.

    5. Any suggestions for making the actual blog more functional? (I am hoping for a sweet redesign sometime in the new year)
    Archives and tags/categories are nice.

    6. Would you be interested in following a jenloveskev inspirational tumblr site? (its in the works hopefully ready to debut on Monday)
YES!!! I’m always on that site lol.

    7. How long have you been reading and how did you found out about this blog?
A couple of months, I want to say 4 or 5. I found you through Top Baby Blogs I believe.

    8. Do you like that jenloveskev is more than just a fashion blog? Do you enjoy reading about my other interests?
Yes, as I mentioned before. I’m not HUGE on fashion blogs.

    9. Umm, well any other thoughts you have to make jenloveskev an even better experience?
Nope, I love your blog. 🙂

  12. 1. Depends on how much time I have at work 😉 but several times a week.
    2. Reading about your daily life and trips etc. We’re around the same age (I think, I’m 27) but in different parts of the world and your life is very different from mine, which is very interesting to read about. Plus I like your writing style.
    3. Uhm, I always have second thoughts when I see a sponsor related post on any fashion blog. Do they post these clothes/shoes/anything because they really like them or is it because of the sponsering? Don’t get me wrong, you put a lot of time and effort in this blog and should get some benefits from it. I totally agree that you should get sponsored. And I don’t think you’re the kind of person that could just be “bought” to promote a brand that you didn’t support. It’s just a general thing in blogland that’s made me question how genuine some enthousiastic reviews from some bloggers are. But again, I don’t think this is the case for you – please continue to stay true to yourself Jen.
    4. Some of your artwork. Oh, and your hometown & state.
    5. Yours is one of the more practical blogs I think. Your archives work fine and I’ve always absolutely loved the design. If you’re redoing the design, I hope it won’t be too dark so it doesn’t scream “totally not work related” at the office 😀
    6. I don’t really follow any Tumblr site yet, can’t say if it’s my thing or not, never tried it
    7. I found your blog through Design*Sponge. I was searching info on painting murals and lo and behold, there you were with your bedroom makeover. I absolutely adored it so checked out your blog which I immediately fell for and started following. So that would be spring or summer 09 I think? Btw, I just moved and am planning to do a new mural in spring, expect an order for your template by then 🙂
    8. Yours is the first blog I read that didn’t focus on just one thing. I love that you show all your passions here. Not just clothes, but also cooking, art, photography (Kev’s tutorials), teaching, your family, your travels,… It made me an immediate fan and it made me want to start a blog of my own (as soon as I overcome this “personal info online paranoia” I will… I’ll start by signing with my real email address for a change). If it was just clothes it wouldn’t stand out so much amongst the other style blogs.
    9. Your blog is one of my absolute favourites. Whatever direction you take it in, I’m sure it’ll remain wonderful.

  13. Hey, this is my first comment here, but I thought I’ll start off with this survey… 🙂
    1. So far daily.
    2. Undecided, yet. I love your outfits and your weekly baby pics.
    3. None.
    4. Everything.
    5. I follow via RSS and your blog does not mark it when I have already been on. Something small :), just a bit annoying for me.
    6. Sure.
    7. Maybe for 10 days? I was hooked right away, though. I think, I klicked on one of your comments on another fashion blog?
    8. Yes and A LOT.
    9. Keep up the excellent work!
Have a great New Year’s and good luck to you and your family. Nora

  14. 1. How often do you read jenloveskev?
    – Every time there is a new post (I follow you via Google Reader)
    2. What is your favorite part of jenloveskev?
    – Hard one! I really like it when you write longer texts, because they’re always so honest and show what a great person you are.
    3. What is your least favorite part (constructive criticism please- don’t be mean)
    – I honestly don’t care much for the recipes, but that’s probably just me.
    4. What would you like to see more of?
    – Style files! I started reading your blog as a “fashion blog” and am still looking forward to seeing new outfits.
    5. Any suggestions for making the actual blog more functional? (I am hoping for a sweet redesign sometime in the new year)
    – For me it works fine 🙂
    6. Would you be interested in following a jenloveskev inspirational tumblr site? (its in the works hopefully ready to debut on Monday)
    – I’m not sure. If you post the links to the tumblr site on jenloveskev (like on Lulu Letty’s blog). Otherwise I might not follow it.
    7. How long have you been reading and how did you found out about this blog?
    – Is it possible that you were in one of Tieka’s “The guy behind the camera”? Than probably that’s probably it. I’m not sure since when but I guess it’s been longer than a year. Maybe 1 1/2 years.
    8. Do you like that jenloveskev is more than just a fashion blog? Do you enjoy reading about my other interests?
    – I do! It’s just more colourful that way. I also enjoy reading about your experiences as a mum even though it’s far away for me.
    9. Umm, well any other thoughts you have to make jenloveskev an even better experience.
    – Honestly, I don’t! I really enjoy reading your blog. Sorry, that I’m not more constructive!

Have a nice evening and a great start in the new year! 🙂

  15. 1.I read a couple times a week.
    2. style files and general goings on (swapaholics, date nights, etc.)
    3. too much modcloth. sorry, i just don’t think the clothes they offer are all that. also, you have a ton of sponsors in the sidebar and it’s kind of busy. the sponsor highlights also seem contrived at times. i could say this for several blogs, not just yours! also, your “about” section at the top of the page needs to be updated (which i’m sure you’ve got covered with the redesign~!).
    4. more art, more happenings around town
    5. maybe a search box or at least month/year archive links on a tabbed page?
    6. not really.
    7. over a year? definitely before the pregnancy. don’t remember how i found your blog.
    8. yes. but, i don’t like kids and don’t want any, so sometimes the whole “my baby is the cutest eveeerrr!1!” stuff is grating, but i get it, all moms are like that lol! 😛
    9. not sure, i have listed like and critcism above, i think that covers it! i do like that the design/layout is clean and simple, i hope that doesn’t change.

  16. 1. Whenever it comes up in my google reader, which I check several times a day

    2. I love the Last Nights Dinner posts, and when you share your art and other projects, but my favourite is probably when you do Q&A about your life – I love to read about how people met their partners etc

    3. No least favourite for me

    4. More food/recipe posts and any cute/funny stories about Rowan

    5. I don’t use the actual blog often since I read it through the RSS feed

    6. I would follow but definitely prefer for “inspiration” type stuff to be kept out of the actual blog itself as some fashion blogs have lost my interest by posting too much external material

    7. I can’t remember, at least a year or two. I found it through the links section of another fashion blog, maybe “Kansas Couture”

    8. Yes I love the food aspects, the personal aspects etc

    9. One thing I am interested in is how you budget for clothes. I really can’t afford to buy any clothes right now so I had to just stop myself even though reading fashion blogs makes me crave some of the items I read about desperately. I wonder if you have a budget or a guideline you go by when you shop, how you decide what you “need” or can treat yourself to etc.

Oh also it would be fun if you did a feature on your personal “wardrobe essentials”. Tim Gunn and others do lists of 10 or so garments, and they always include certain things – little black dress, pencil skirt, white shirt etc – that I don’t think are essential for everyone. I would like to see a more personalised version based on your tastes, what your ‘capsule wardrobe’ would be.

  17. 1. I read your blog daily.

    2. I love how your voice comes through in all of your posts. I subscribe to a lot of blogs, but yours is one of my absolute favorites because it’s so real. I think that good blogs, blogs that people keep coming back to, are ones in which you really feel like you know the blogger or can relate to them. And it is very evident you are such a sweet, wonderful person. So whether you are writing about recipes or style files, I can “hear” your voice coming through the posts.

    3. I actually think your blog is very well executed, but I do have a couple of suggestions. Can you make the archives on your site more easy to browse? Like add tags to different posts so we can search for something specific, like “formal wear” or “maternity” or “breakfast recipe”? Something along those lines.

    4. I’m such a cat person, so any pictures/posts including your cats would be appreciated! 🙂 If you could even do a post about your cats, like how you acquired them, what they are like, that would be awesome.

    5. Like I was mentioning earlier, a more efficient archive system with tags.

    6. Absolutely. I use your site as inspiration all the time, and I like reading inspiration posts.

    7. A very long time, definitely more than a year. It’s been so long that I can’t even remember how I found your blog.

    8. Yes. It’s one of the things that keeps me coming back to your blog every day. I like style, but it’s even better getting to know the person behind the style. And you definitely do that!

    9. A cat post! 🙂

  18. 1. How often do you read jenloveskev? every few days

    2. What is your favorite part of jenloveskev? I like seeing how you put clothes together, and having a glimpse into your life.

    3. What is your least favorite part (constructive criticism please- don’t be mean) Honestly, I think you could use a proofreader sometimes. There’s often several grammar and capitalization mistakes.

    4. What would you like to see more of? It would be cool to see more of your art.

    5. Any suggestions for making the actual blog more functional? (I am hoping for a sweet redesign sometime in the new year) No, i haven’t had any trouble.

    6. Would you be interested in following a jenloveskev inspirational tumblr site? (its in the works hopefully ready to debut on Monday) umm…maybe?

    7. How long have you been reading and how did you found out about this blog? Maybe 6 months. I think I found it through Delightfully-Tacky.

    8. Do you like that jenloveskev is more than just a fashion blog? Do you enjoy reading about my other interests? yes

    9. Umm, well any other thoughts you have to make jenloveskev an even better experience? Ill listen to any suggestions. Heres your chance. Feel free to answer all or just a few of the above questions. I really appreciate the input.

I think what I said previously about perhaps proofreading a bit more throughly before you publish. Otherwise, it’s a fun blog to read!

  19. 1. I read daily. It comes to my Feedly/Google Reader.

    2. I love how honest and unpretentious the blog is. Seriously. I have stopped following blogs for one two many “look how perfect and dreamy everything is in my life!” posts. You are down to earth and easy to relate to.

    3. I love the recipes, and the baby posts (a positive pregnancy test and blog search brought me to you). I agree with Alisha, it would be great if each feature was more easily search-able. I tend to skim sponsor posts as well, but I don’t think there is anything you can do about this. I do look at them.

    4. I love pictures. Can’t get enough. I know they are labor intensive, though.

    5. Again, I am with Alisha – a better way to search post topics, tags, etc.

    6. Yes!

    7. I have been reading since the end of July 2010. I found the blog via a search on Best Baby Blogs. I am pretty sure yours is one of the few I still follow from that list.

    8. I love all topics! You strives to be holistic and I like that. I loved the post about how you spent one of Rowan’s cranky days on the sofa, for instance. Very sweet.

    9. I think you should trust your instincts and not be apologetic about any content. Keep it up!

    🙂

  20. Just a few – use grammar and spellcheck. It will make it seem like I am reading a more professional blog, not a kid’s.

  21. ooh, a survey!

    1. How often do you read jenloveskev?
Few times a week? (Whenever you update – I use Google Reader)

    2. What is your favorite part of jenloveskev?
I read because I think you have such an upbeat and honest perspective (even when things are not up!) and such a unique, friendly voice amongst many of the blogs I read. I love the wide array of stuff you post about, and not just ‘what I wore.’ It always feels really balanced to me. [but don’t get me wrong, I do love the clothes!]

    3. What is your least favorite part (constructive criticism please- don’t be mean)
Spelling/grammar mistakes make me frown because, to sound like a grandma, I am silly and want my favorite bloggers to put their best foot forward on the internets.

    4. What would you like to see more of?
Jen, Kev, and Rowan’s local flavor! [as an on- and off- upstate NY’er. I’m just selfish, ha ha]

    5. Any suggestions for making the actual blog more functional? (I am hoping for a sweet redesign sometime in the new year)
No suggestions here, since I mostly follow in Google Reader and only click thorugh if I want to comment or bookmark something (recipes!) Related, I really love the current color scheme, it’s so soothing …with an edge!

    6. Would you be interested in following a jenloveskev inspirational tumblr site? (its in the works hopefully ready to debut on Monday)
    Sure!

    7. How long have you been reading and how did you found out about this blog?
hmm, probably about a year? and probably through one of the other weardrobe sites after the NYC conference? or I could be completely wrong!

    8. Do you like that jenloveskev is more than just a fashion blog? Do you enjoy reading about my other interests?
YES! I love the mix. Proof: I made the butternut squash pasta recipe from March for dinner last night 🙂

    9. Umm, well any other thoughts you have to make jenloveskev an even better experience?
(proofread a little!) but otherwise, you are you and it comes through beautifully on jenloveskev. I love this little space on the internets.

  22. oh, I wanted to mention proofreading as well. and I think I found your blog via kansas couture, too (katy is awesome)!

  23. 1. Almost daily.

    2. Your relate-able personality and honesty – I enjoy reading your more personal posts the most I think.

    3. The posts solely promoting your sponsors – I know it’s a necessity to mention them, but those posts are the least interesting to me.

    4. Personal stuff! It’s cool to see what your day-to-day is like 🙂

    5. I actually like it the way it is – User-friendly!

    6. Hmm – Not sure how tumblr is different from other blogs (I just don’t know much about it) – But I will probably follow you there too 🙂

    7. I’ve been reading for about a year now?? I think I found you through wardrobe_remix on Flickr.

    8. As I’ve mentioned I do enjoy the personal and other stuff – Adds some diversity and a multidimensional feel to your blog!

    9. That’s about it! Thanks for sharing with us 🙂

  24. 1. How often do you read jenloveskev? Daily! Whenever there’s a new post in my reader.

    2. What is your favorite part of jenloveskev? I love the variety. Your personal style is all your own, and I find myself very inspired by the risks you take. I love the baby posts, too, as my husband and I are working on starting our own little family.

    3. What is your least favorite part: Probably the sponsor spotlights. Maybe there’s a more personal way of incorporating them and not just listing what they have. It seems a lot more like a blatant ad than a personal post when you do that.

    4. What would you like to see more of? I think you’re hitting all the points I’d like to see very consistently.

    5. Any suggestions for making the actual blog more functional? Topical links in the side bar. On a few occasions, I’ve been looking for a dinner post and had to search through every post. A list of post tags in the side bar where I could just click “Last Night’s Dinner” would be super helpful.

    6. Would you be interested in following a jenloveskev inspirational tumblr site? I don’t do Tumblr, but I’d enjoy browsing it every now and then.

    7. How long have you been reading and how did you found out about this blog? Almost a year. I found you through the Delightful Dozen.

    8. Do you like that jenloveskev is more than just a fashion blog? Do you enjoy reading about my other interests? I do! It gives it a lot of variety and a personal touch.

Keep it up! Your blog is among my top three I-get-so-excited-when-I-see-a-new-post blogs!

  25. OH! And I have to agree with another commenter: I love the fact you discuss your faith here, too. As a Christian, I find it very inspiring!

  26. Reading your blog is better than any magazine out there. You cover it all–fashion, home, baby, crafts. I’m very excited to read your inspirational blog. I’m amazed you have time to document everything and inspire us so often, but if anything were to change, I would just ask for more of the same, plus maybe a little more crafts/artwork!!! I’ve been reading since last summer, I noticed alot of my favorite fashioon bloggers listed you in their faves. Congratulations on your baby and I hope your husband’s new business is doing well.

  27. So I only have one comments and thats this blog is awesome and so are you! haha I really love it but I would love to see more art inspired outfits i really liked that series of blogs. Okay thats all thanks for creating this little corner of your life have a great new year!

  28. 1. How often do you read jenloveskev? Everytime you update it! I subscribe via Google Reader.

    2. What is your favorite part of jenloveskev? I like how it follows where you are in life.

    3. What is your least favorite part (constructive criticism please- don’t be mean) As a non-mother, the baby stuff doesn’t hold my interest as much but in another way I do like it b/c I may become one someday and it is inspiring to see you still dressing cute, having your interests, cooking, travel etc with your baby

    4. What would you like to see more of? I would like to hear more about managing things–how you manage your blog, finances, marriage, motherhood.

    5. Any suggestions for making the actual blog more functional? (I am hoping for a sweet redesign sometime in the new year). As mentioned, I don’t even view it on your website (usually). Google reader has a great search tool so I know if you wrote about a certain subject I can try to find it that way.

    6. Would you be interested in following a jenloveskev inspirational tumblr site? (its in the works hopefully ready to debut on Monday) Yes! I think it would be cool!

    7. How long have you been reading and how did you found out about this blog? I have been reading for about a year–I cannot remember how I found you–through Selective Potential, maybe

    8. Do you like that jenloveskev is more than just a fashion blog? Do you enjoy reading about my other interests? Yes, I love it. I really do!

    9. Do you like when there is a schedule for the week? (ex. Recipe on Tuesday, Baby week photos on Thursday, outfit posts daily) or does it not matter? It doesn’t really matter, but sometimes it is nice to know when you could get an idea for a dinner or an outfit. I think it’s up to you–would it help you to have a schedule? If yes, then do it. If it feels stressful, then no.

    10. Umm, Any other thoughts you have to make jenloveskev an even better experience? Ill listen to any suggestions. Heres your chance. Feel free to answer all or just a few of the above questions. I really appreciate the input. GREAT WORK!

  29. 1. How often do you read jenloveskev?
I try to read every new post, but it may be I miss some.

    2. What is your favorite part of jenloveskev?
I like all parts and it is very hard to decide which is my favorite, but I would say the pictures of Rowan are always adorable!

    3. What is your least favorite part (constructive criticism please- don’t be mean)
Hmmm… I’m not always interested in the food, maybe…

    4. What would you like to see more of?
    Rowan 🙂 And your outfits.

    5. Any suggestions for making the actual blog more functional? (I am hoping for a sweet redesign sometime in the new year)
No, I like it, how it is.

    6. Would you be interested in following a jenloveskev inspirational tumblr site? (its in the works hopefully ready to debut on Monday)
    I don’t think so.

    7. How long have you been reading and how did you found out about this blog?
I have no idea, sorry! But I suppose I found this blog via others, because that’s the common way I find new blogs.

    8. Do you like that jenloveskev is more than just a fashion blog? Do you enjoy reading about my other interests?
    Definitely yes!

    9. Do you like when there is a schedule for the week? (ex. Recipe on Tuesday, Baby week photos on Thursday, outfit posts daily) or does it not matter?
For me it doesn’t matter, but a schedule doesn’t bother.

    10. Umm, Any other thoughts you have to make jenloveskev an even better experience?
No, it is already a great experience.

    Happy New Year!

  30. I found your blog pretty recently, right after my daughter was born, which is why I started reading. My daughter is two week younger than Rowan, so I got intantly hooked on watching her grow and hearing your perspective on things. I’m not into fashion at all, but I am an avid painter so I enjoy the fashion part on an artistic level, and I have to admit it’s kind of inspiring to see a new mom put enough time into herself that she actually dresses up on a daily basis.

  31. 1. How often do you read jenloveskev?
Probably at least 4-5 times a week

    2. What is your favorite part of jenloveskev?
That it’s a lifestyle blog. Not only about fashion or art.. but your life as a whole.

    3. What is your least favorite part (constructive criticism please- don’t be mean)

    4. What would you like to see more of?
not sure.. I like the blog as it is.

    5. Any suggestions for making the actual blog more functional? (I am hoping for a sweet redesign sometime in the new year)

    6. Would you be interested in following a jenloveskev inspirational tumblr site? (its in the works hopefully ready to debut on Monday)
    sure!

    7. How long have you been reading and how did you found out about this blog?
I think i’ve been reading for about a year and a half. maybe more. A friend on facebook shared the link with my sister, I saw the link and have been reading ever since.

    8. Do you like that jenloveskev is more than just a fashion blog? Do you enjoy reading about my other interests?
Yes! Love that. When I’ve started reading other blogs it gets a little boring when all every post is is talking about clothes. I like clothes.. but it’s more interesting to see how the clothes fit into someone’s life.

    9. Do you like when there is a schedule for the week? (ex. Recipe on Tuesday, Baby week photos on Thursday, outfit posts daily) or does it not matter?
It doesn’t really matter. It’s kind of nice to be surprised. 🙂

    10. Umm, Any other thoughts you have to make jenloveskev an even better experience?
Nothing comes to mind. Thanks for sharing, Jen! I’ve really enjoyed reading your blog and seeing what an exciting year you’ve had!

  32. 1. How often do you read jenloveskev?
    About twice a week.

    2. What is your favorite part of jenloveskev?
I like how open and honest you are about your life. Your site is well-designed and easy to navigate, your pictures are adorable, and you have a cuuuute baby and husband!

    3. What is your least favorite part (constructive criticism please- don’t be mean)
I personally am not a big fan of blog sponsorships, I think it ruins the purpose of fashion blogging (esp the wardrobe remixing on a budget aspect). However, now that you are at home with a baby I can see how this would be a very smart way to generate income for your family. I think you should be a bit more candid in your product reviews — maybe do pro’s and cons?

    4. What would you like to see more of?
I think your blog has a great mix of posts, but I would love to see more of your art and photography.

    7. How long have you been reading and how did you found out about this blog?
I found your blog through Orchid Grey and I’ve been reading for about a year.

    9. Do you like when there is a schedule for the week? (ex. Recipe on Tuesday, Baby week photos on Thursday, outfit posts daily) or does it not matter?
I doesnt matter to me! I know as a blogger it is easier to keep that format, so if it works for you — keep at it! 🙂

    10. Umm, Any other thoughts you have to make jenloveskev an even better experience? Ill listen to any suggestions.
I would enable some kind of comment reply function — I think it is good when bloggers reach out to the people who are reading them. I think it would also be neat if you did some kind of blog spotlight to show posts and blogs who are inspiring you lately.

  33. 1. How often do you read jenloveskev?
I follow with Bloglovin, so every time you post something new!

    2. What is your favorite part of jenloveskev?
Hmmm, this is tough! I love your outfit posts…that’s originally what brought me to your blog, so I’d have to say those are my favorite.
And also, I just have to say, although they are not my absolute favorite, I like your recipes! I specifically remember one from a loooooong time ago for tortilla soup and I still think about it and want to make it! haha

    3. What is your least favorite part (constructive criticism please- don’t be mean)
Again, this is tough! If I had to pick something, I would say the sponsor posts…but that’s only if I HAD to pick something – I actually look over most of the ones you post, and on other blogs I usually skip them completely.

    4. What would you like to see more of?
Outfits, family stuff, Rowan, just keep doing more of what you’re doing!

    5. Any suggestions for making the actual blog more functional? (I am hoping for a sweet redesign sometime in the new year)
hmmm, I think I agree with some other people when they said they want to be able to find posts about certain things more easily…but honestly I haven’t really had any problems!

    6. Would you be interested in following a jenloveskev inspirational tumblr site? (its in the works hopefully ready to debut on Monday)
    Sure!

    7. How long have you been reading and how did you found out about this blog?
Hmmm…I think I’ve been reading for approximately a year? I honestly don’t remember how I found it, it was so long ago…and I normally don’t comment because it makes me feel like a creeper! haha I know that’s weird…it’s probably more creepy to just follow and never comment…but anyway, I love your blog, so I wanted to help you out with your survey!

    8. Do you like that jenloveskev is more than just a fashion blog? Do you enjoy reading about my other interests?
    Yes!

    9. Do you like when there is a schedule for the week? (ex. Recipe on Tuesday, Baby week photos on Thursday, outfit posts daily) or does it not matter?
I guess to me it doesn’t really matter too much…I read your posts regardless!

    10. Umm, Any other thoughts you have to make jenloveskev an even better experience? Ill listen to any suggestions. Heres your chance. Feel free to answer all or just a few of the above questions. I really appreciate the input.
Not that I can think of! Keep up the great work, and happy new year! 🙂

  34. 1. How often do you read jenloveskev?
-any time I see an update via bloglovin

    2. What is your favorite part of jenloveskev?
-your personality really shows thru in your posts and you don’t ever sound like just another fashion drone. Its nice to look at your posts and not always see “c/o”. I have never read your blog and once thought “Oh god, she’s gone corporate”

    3. What is your least favorite part (constructive criticism please- don’t be mean)
    -grammar/proofreading

    4. What would you like to see more of?
-nothing, I like your blog just the way it is!

    7. How long have you been reading and how did you found out about this blog?
-a link from another bloggers site. Maybe Orchid Grey

  35. Also — as others have mentioned, since you are a professional blogger now, I would have someone proofread your posts. 🙂

Keep up the good work, Jen! Happy New Year!

  36. I come almost every day 🙂 I found you through top baby blogs when I was still pregnant and you were still pregnant too 🙂
My fave part is baby stuff, but that’s my interest given my own baby and I love reading other mom experiences 🙂
Would love to see more of Rowan and more posts about your journey as a mom 🙂
I would totally follow you on tumblr! For your style of blog, a schedule would probably work best but if you don’t want to do it, it’s up to you. 🙂 I’m excited for a new design <3 Happy 2011!!

  37. Hey!
Only been reading a week since linking you from young house love. Really cool blog- keep doing the style files and last nights dinner files. Baby stuff is always interesting but more about your general life, house, holidays, shopping and holidays.
Don’t structure it- just go with the flow.
    Corinne 🙂

  38. Hey!!! Love Love Love the blog and love the baby stuff the most! I read everyday!!! I had a baby just a few weeks after you and love reading all about what you are going thru b/c I am right there with you! It’s great. Don’t really care about the scheduling, do what you want b/c it’s great! You are awesome!!!

  39. I read everyday. I love how honest you are about yourself, your relationship and your life. I’m not sure that I really have a least favorite part… I’m not a fashion blogger and don’t think of myself as a “fashionable” person, but I love reading about how you remix items in your wardrobe. It makes me feel like I can actually do something fun with my lackluster closet. I love reading about your family! So more of that? I read your blog on google reader, so functionality on the actual site isn’t much of an issue. I would definitely follow you on tumblr, I’ve had a tumblog for 3 years now! I’ve been reading for about a year now, and I found you through WhatIWore. Obviously I love that this is more than I fashion blog, I actually don’t think I would have kept following if it wasn’t more than a fashion blog. The schedule doesn’t matter too much to me, I would read regardless but I guess it’s nice that you can look forward to something different each day. As a blogger myself I know that putting those expectations on yourself can be pretty daunting, and with a baby at home I can’t image being able to keep up. Keep doing what you do! Best wishes for 2011!!

  40. 1. How often do you read jenloveskev?
I subscribe on bloglovin’ ; so whenever you post a new entry I read!

    2. What is your favorite part of jenloveskev?
I love your photography and locations for your shoots.

    3. What is your least favorite part (constructive criticism please- don’t be mean)
I don’t like the sponser highlight posts, most of the stuff I can’t afford anyways. But I see your financial need for those types of posts.

    4. What would you like to see more of?
The “I’d Wear that” posts, where you put together outfits for different occasions and such–you always use affordable clothes and accessories, which is great.

    5. Any suggestions for making the actual blog more functional? (I am hoping for a sweet redesign sometime in the new year)
an archive of your clothing items so we can look back and see how you have remixed an article of clothing in the past and for what occasion.

    6. Would you be interested in following a jenloveskev inspirational tumblr site? (its in the works hopefully ready to debut on Monday)
    No. Sorry.

    7. How long have you been reading and how did you found out about this blog?
I have been reading for about 2 years. I found in wardrobe remix on flickr.

    8. Do you like that jenloveskev is more than just a fashion blog? Do you enjoy reading about my other interests?
I love that your blog encompasses all aspects of your life, it shows that this is not just a business but your creative outlet and way to document your life. Its awesome. I’d like to see more of your interior design side, because I remember how rad your house was; I’m sure you have lots of great ideas on decorating.

    9. Do you like when there is a schedule for the week? (ex. Recipe on Tuesday, Baby week photos on Thursday, outfit posts daily) or does it not matter?
    Doesn’t matter.

    10. Umm, Any other thoughts you have to make jenloveskev an even better experience?
Jenloveskev is a great blog! Keep up the great work and I look forward to the changes you have in store! I’m a faithful reader so anything you do, I will still come back for more!

  41. Toni Ross •

    1. How often do you read jenloveskev? every week day

    2. What is your favorite part of jenloveskev? veggie recipes (but only because they’re an unexpected bonus on a fashion blog!)

    3. What is your least favorite part? How beautiful your home is :/

    4. What would you like to see more of? maybe Video? It’s interesting to see how someone is in “real/vitual life”

    5. Any suggestions for making the actual blog more functional? Nope, you’ve got the amount of picts/words in a good ratio.

    6. Would you be interested in following a jenloveskev inspirational tumblr site? I wouldn’t. I LOVE maria of lulu letty and I don’t follow hers either.

    7. How long have you been reading and how did you found out about this blog? Little over a year ago, I started on bloglovin through following Christina of Second Skin on Chitopia, from there my blog roll just expanded.

    8. Do you like that jenloveskev is more than just a fashion blog? yes, and yes

    9. Do you like when there is a schedule for the week? yes

    10. Umm, Any other thoughts you have to make jenloveskev an even better experience? Ill listen to any suggestions. Heres your chance. Feel free to answer all or just a few of the above questions. I really appreciate the input.

  42. Glad to help!
    1. How often do you read jenloveskev? Whenever you post (you’re in my Google Reader which I check daily, for the most part)
    2. What is your favorite part of jenloveskev? YOU. Of course. 🙂 (meaning your personality, the way you write, etc)
    3. What is your least favorite part? I don’t even have a least favorite part that I can think of!
    4. What would you like to see more of? Art that you create
    5. Any suggestions for making the actual blog more functional? I mostly read it through Google Reader and it works fine for me, so nothing to add here.
    6. Would you be interested in following a jenloveskev inspirational tumblr site? Maybe, depending on what it will include?
    7. How long have you been reading and how did you found out about this blog? Reading for about 6 months now, found it via someone else’s style blog (forget who, probably Orchid Grey though)
    8. Do you like that jenloveskev is more than just a fashion blog? Do you enjoy reading about my other interests? YES! I LOVE that it’s more than fashion!
    9. Do you like when there is a schedule for the week? (ex. Recipe on Tuesday, Baby week photos on Thursday, outfit posts daily) or does it not matter? Doesn’t matter, as a blogger I understand that life gets in the way and it’s hard to keep to a schedule. I’d rather you blog naturally than feel like it’s a forced post, just to get something up.
    10. Umm, Any other thoughts you have to make jenloveskev an even better experience? I actually love it already! You all are such a cute little family that it’s sweet to hear about all of the fun you have in your daily lives. 🙂 Your blog is probably one of my favorite 3 fashion-related blogs, but the fact that it’s more than fashion is a big reason for that. Keep up the great work!

  43. 1. How often do you read jenloveskev? –Maybe two to three times a week.

    2. What is your favorite part of jenloveskev?– I love your writing voice.

    3. What is your least favorite part (constructive criticism please- don’t be mean)– I really don’t care for recipes. I’m also not a fan of the sponsor spotlights. I skip both of these. I agree a proofread would be nice, but I understand that you have an informal vibe to your blog.

    4. What would you like to see more of?–I enjoy fashion posts, what I wore type posts. It’s interesting to see your style evolution. I like hearing about little Rowan, but I’m not a mom, so I skip the more in-depth mommy posts…

    5. Any suggestions for making the actual blog more functional? (I am hoping for a sweet redesign sometime in the new year)–Definitely a search bar and a better archive system.

    6. Would you be interested in following a jenloveskev inspirational tumblr site? (its in the works hopefully ready to debut on Monday) –Not so into tumblr. Too many updates to keep up with…

    7. How long have you been reading and how did you found out about this blog? –Since Miss Rowan was born.

    8. Do you like that jenloveskev is more than just a fashion blog? Do you enjoy reading about my other interests? –I mostly enjoy the fashion part.

    9. Do you like when there is a schedule for the week? (ex. Recipe on Tuesday, Baby week photos on Thursday, outfit posts daily) or does it not matter? –It doesn’t matter to me. I would probably only check the days that are fashion related.

  44. 1. I read every day.

    2. I love the variety! So everything I suppose. At first I wasn’t so into the baby posts, but now that I’m trying to have a baby myself, I find them more interesting.

    3. n/a

    4. I’d like to see a photo tour of your home! I know that’s a lot of pressure, but I loved your old house and the tiny snippets I’ve seen of your new place is such a tease!

    5. It would be nice to be able to access your older posts by category more easily, particularly Last Nights Dinner. I don’t always remember to bookmark my favorites.

    6. I would definitely check it out!

    7. I’ve been following you since 2009. I forget which site, but your post with the tree mural in your old room drew me in.

    8. Yes! Again, love the variety.

    9. I like open formats. My personal belief is that if you force a topic when perhaps you might not be “feeling it” it comes across in the post. For example, if it’s outfit day and you just put something together that you’re not super excited about just to post it because readers expect it. Not saying you do this, but I think it’s an easy trap to fall into with lifestyle blogs.

    10. I really enjoyed Kev’s photography posts. Just sayin. 🙂 Also, I really respect the sponsors you’ve chosen for your blog. I don’t always check sites regularly, but I enjoy your highlights posts for companies like Ruche.

  45. 1. How often do you read jenloveskev?
    Once a week.

    2. What is your favorite part of jenloveskev?
The clothes! 🙂 The photography is great as well. Shot out to Kev!

    3. What is your least favorite part (constructive criticism please- don’t be mean)
First I’ll say how happy I truly am for you and Kev and your precious new baby. And I understand the new direction of the blog because of her. But I’m not really a baby person so I have lessen my visits on your blog. I would never ever stop reading your blog because of it though, I enjoy it way too much! I was hoping your blog would go the direction of YHL with minimal baby related post, with maybe a different section for people who did want to see and hear about her progress. I do understand though that their blog is a “home” related blog and yours is a “life” related blog. That’s just my opinion though. I do love your blog and plan to be a consistent reader as long as it’s around.

    4. What would you like to see more of?
Dinner post. They always look so yummy and I’m trying to cut back on my meat intake so I like to prepare some of the meals you post.

    5. Any suggestions for making the actual blog more functional? (I am hoping for a sweet redesign sometime in the new year)
Please keep the layout how it is! It’s clear and simple to navigate through.

    6. Would you be interested in following a jenloveskev inspirational tumblr site? (its in the works hopefully ready to debut on Monday)
    Depending on it’s content, sure.

    7. How long have you been reading and how did you found out about this blog?
I’m really not sure, maybe five, six months before you got pregnant.

    8. Do you like that jenloveskev is more than just a fashion blog? Do you enjoy reading about my other interests?
I do, as much as I love the fashion, I like getting a sense of the person you are though your other interest as well.

    9. Umm, well any other thoughts you have to make jenloveskev an even better experience? Ill listen to any suggestions. Heres your chance. Feel free to answer all or just a few of the above questions. I really appreciate the input.
Just please when doing a new layout keep it simple.

  46. 1. How often do you read jenloveskev?
-whenever there is a new post on bloglovin

    2. What is your favorite part of jenloveskev?
    – the variety of your posts, as well as the little view into your world that you show.

    3. What is your least favorite part (constructive criticism please- don’t be mean)
-can’t think of anything to be honest.. 🙂

    4. What would you like to see more of?
    – the only thing I was thinking of was if you did reviews of movies or books that you see.. just to give your readers some ideas about that to watch or read.

    5. Any suggestions for making the actual blog more functional? (I am hoping for a sweet redesign sometime in the new year)
    – i like this layout but you could make the part where the post is wider somehow? instead of the narrow column?

    6. Would you be interested in following a jenloveskev inspirational tumblr site? (its in the works hopefully ready to debut on Monday)
    -yes i would 🙂

    7. How long have you been reading and how did you found out about this blog?
    – I don’t remember, since early fall. I found you through Orchid Grey, which is another favourite blog of mine.

    8. Do you like that jenloveskev is more than just a fashion blog? Do you enjoy reading about my other interests?
-Definitely! I love your baby posts 🙂
    9. Do you like when there is a schedule for the week? (ex. Recipe on Tuesday, Baby week photos on Thursday, outfit posts daily) or does it not matter?
    – if it works for you then it works for me. but I don’t want you to be forcing yourself to make posts that you are inspired about.

    10. Umm, Any other thoughts you have to make jenloveskev an even better experience? Ill listen to any suggestions. Heres your chance. Feel free to answer all or just a few of the above questions. I really appreciate the input.
No thoughts at the moment 🙂

  47. *not inspired.. haha

  48. 1. Daily! I follow you on twitter and I click over whenever I see that there is a new post.

    2. I enjoy the “style files”, the small posts about your life, and all of the art/craft posts. I also love the recipe/meal/dinner posts. (I guess I love a lot!)

    3. The grammar mistakes do bother me. Small uses of incorrect grammar like “Kevin and me went —” instead of “Kevin and I went —” can tiresome on a regular basis. So, I would just go with the “have a proofreader” suggestion. I am not trying to be critical. I make a thousand typos and errors on my blog and never realize until my husband asks if he can edit it or my mom calls the next day and goes, “this is wrong!” Also, I do skip over the “I’d Wear That” and the sponsor posts.

    4. What would you like to see more of? I love hearing about the stories behind outfits. Did you pick the outfit because it was easy to stand in for hours? Were your shoes functional? How did the outfit fit your plans for the day? I love things like that. It helps me figure out what I might wear on a pre-school interview or a dinner date or a mommy-children playdate. Ooo, as I mentioned before, I love seeing your handmade crafts and dolls and I love hearing about the creative process.

    5. I am dysfunctional at all things blog designy. I love your header. Maybe easier archive access?

    6. Yes!

    7. I have been reading your blog since I saw a retweet of your pregnancy announcement.

    8. I really like reading about all aspects of your life. I feel like it complements the fashion aspect so well and it makes you seem so well-rounded and real. With fashion blogs, it can sometimes feel like you are looking at pictures of a life-like mannequin because it is just about the clothes and (sometimes) awkward fashion poses. I do not tend to read those blogs on a frequent basis because I feel zero connection with the blogger. It’s fun to see new clothes in a store-front window, but I have no interest in walking by said window every day to see how they are doing. You are real and interesting and it makes me want to keep reading your blog.

    Happy New Year!

  49. 1. How often do you read jenloveskev? whenever there is a new post, i’m subscribed:)

    2. What is your favorite part of jenloveskev?Everything, really. You include little tidbits of other parts of your life that don’t have to do with just fashion, so it’s really rounded out. it feels like… an entity. Does that make sense? Sometimes with other blogs they ONLY write about what they wear and are ALWAYS witty or ALWAYS _______ and it can feel… like they’re trying too hard. You come off as very, very genuine and like you’re not writing to impress other people, but just for yourself and because you enjoy it. That really comes through and I love it:) Also, I don’t have a child, nor am I married or anything, but I enjoy reading about your experiences as a new mother and how you’re choosing to do things. It’s inspirational and very endearing.

    3. What is your least favorite part (constructive criticism please- don’t be mean) I don’t have a least favorite… but if I were FORCED to choose, with a gun to my head, then I’d say the Last Night’s Dinner and I’d Wear That. Actually, more “I’d Wear That” than “Last Night’s Dinner.” I always say that if it doesn’t contribute or make your writing/blog/whatever better, then take it out. I think maybe because it seems impersonal? I dunno…

    4. What would you like to see more of? Mommy things ,haha, like how you deal with certain things or what works best for you, stuff like that.

    5. Any suggestions for making the actual blog more functional? (I am hoping for a sweet redesign sometime in the new year) Not really… seems pretty functional to me:)

    6. Would you be interested in following a jenloveskev inspirational tumblr site? (its in the works hopefully ready to debut on Monday) I would try it out and see if I liked it, yes.

    7. How long have you been reading and how did you found out about this blog? I think i’ve been reading since right before Rowan was born… I think. Yea, that sounds right. And I found it through some other blog, though I can’t remember which one (obviously, I liked yours more, haha)

    8. Do you like that jenloveskev is more than just a fashion blog? Do you enjoy reading about my other interests? Resounding YESSSSS

    9. Do you like when there is a schedule for the week? (ex. Recipe on Tuesday, Baby week photos on Thursday, outfit posts daily) or does it not matter? I don’t notice it and I don’t think it matters

    10. Umm, Any other thoughts you have to make jenloveskev an even better experience? Ill listen to any suggestions. Heres your chance. Feel free to answer all or just a few of the above questions. I really appreciate the input.
I’m curious about your budget/how you’re balancing have a baby and stuff. Of course, I COMPLETELY understand that that might be too personal, but I’m just curious to know how much that would affect a couple and change their way of life. Like, the things they’re used to, etc. Don’t have to answer this if you don’t feel comfortable, though:)

  50. 1. All the time! Several times a week, at least.

    2. I initially started reading because your style is geared toward looking good while living your life, not just looking good, period – I’m a teacher, too, and style sites that are 100% minidresses and sky-high heels just aren’t gonna happen for me. So, real-ness and accessibility, I guess, is my favorite thing about the site. The vegetarian recipes are a bonus.

    3. Because I’m not a mom, I tend to skip over anything that’s just-Rowan. She’s darn cute, though, and it’s awesome how much you clearly adore her.

    4. I’d love to see more of your art!

    5. I add my voice to the chorus asking for functional archives, searchable/browsable by tag or posting type.

    7. Probably a year and a half? I think I first saw the post about your bedroom re-do on Design*Sponge and started reading your site after that.

    8. Definitely! Keeps it interesting.

  51. 1. Jen Loves Kev is one of the blogs I look at daily.

    2. I love your outfits and everything to do with your baby. Your style is very real ( ie budget, modesty, where you shop) and it’s refreshing to see someone who can dress nice and not feel the need to buy everything designer. It’s been great following you through your pregnancy, and now through Rowan’s first few months, and I hope you keep that up!

    3. I would have to say that my least favorite part of your blog are the posts advertising your sponsors, but that’s simply because they’re kind of boring. I do like how few of those posts there are though.

    4. Style files! Rowan! I also think your Last Night’s Dinner posts are interesting, but more of a once a week thing.

    5. I really like your current design, but I do think something on the side that is a history of posts would be really helpful. Also, updating the Gallery would be nice.

    6. I would. I already follow several other bloggers’ tumblrs, and it’s nice to see what they find inspirational or cute, but don’t post on their blog.

    7. I first found out about Jen Loves Kev by a link on another blog about a year ago, and then I read maybe once a week, once every other week. Over the summer I culled down the number of blogs I followed, so I’d be able to read the blogs I really liked several times a week. Jen Loves Kev was stuck in the back of mind and I kept it, so I’ve been (much) more closely following it since around August.

    8. I first started following it because it was a fashion blog, but I have come to like the non fashion part of it (Rowan, Last Night’s Dinner, etc.).

    9. Schedules are nice because they get posted all the different types of posts I’d like to see, but I don’t think you should feel compelled to follow a schedule.

    10. I’m afraid I can’t really think of anything! Happy New Year!

  52. Jacqueline •

    1. Almost daily
    2. Your style files
    3. Really, nothing.
    4. Last night’s dinner or the crafts you make and sell.
    5. No functional suggestions, sorry.
    6. Probably not, but I’m sure it would be neat.
    7. I have been reading your blog for a little over a year. I met you and Kev in NYC in line for SNL tickets and then we all got rehearsal tickets, which was really fun. You gave us your card and I have been reading every since.
    8. I do like the other aspects of your blog. Especially Rowan 🙂
    9. The schedule doesn’t really matter to me
    10. No other suggestions. Thanks for sharing!

  53. 1. How often do you read jenloveskev? I’m subscribed on bloglovin’, so I read whenever you post!

    2. What is your favorite part of jenloveskev? All of it? Haha. I love reading about your life, and baby Rowan! Plus, I always get inspiration from your outfits!
    4. What would you like to see more of? More outfits! And more of the features where you put an outfit together!
    6. Would you be interested in following a jenloveskev inspirational tumblr site? (its in the works hopefully ready to debut on Monday)
Yes! Already on tumblr, so yes yes!
    7. How long have you been reading and how did you found out about this blog?
I’ve been reading for a little over a year. And I’m not sure how I found you…links from other blogs, I’m sure!
    8. Do you like that jenloveskev is more than just a fashion blog? Do you enjoy reading about my other interests? Yes! I love seeing how your fashion fits into your life and how your life impacts what you wear!

    9. Do you like when there is a schedule for the week? (ex. Recipe on Tuesday, Baby week photos on Thursday, outfit posts daily) or does it not matter? Doesn’t matter to me!

  54. 1. About 4 times a week

    2. Everything! The outfits are what brought me, but everything keeps me coming back!

    3. I can’t really think of anything

    4. I’d wear that’s are always nice!

    5. Nope

    6. I don’t know? How would it be different from this site? Is it things that inspire you?

    7. Probably a year and a half? I saw you featured on Glamours Slaves to Fashion

    8. Yes!!

    9. Doesn’t Matter

    10. N/A

I think your blog was the 2nd fashion blog I had discovered…and instantly became in love with it!! I emailed you shortly after I had restarted my blog because I loved yours so much…and had NO clue what I was doing!! Of course you gave me some great pointers, but I’m still not anywhere near as good at this whole fashion blogging thing as you are… I’m slowly figuring things out one day at a time!!

  55. 1. How often do you read jenloveskev? I check for updates everyday.

    2. What is your favorite part of jenloveskev? The authenticity that you bring, the variety.

    3. What is your least favorite part (constructive criticism please- don’t be mean). I don’t dislike the “Id’ wear that” but it doesn’t really interest me, but who knows, it may be other’s favorite thing.

    4. What would you like to see more of? More crafty things you do

    5. Any suggestions for making the actual blog more functional? (I am hoping for a sweet redesign sometime in the new year) Like other said, some sort of post history

    6. Would you be interested in following a jenloveskev inspirational tumblr site? (its in the works hopefully ready to debut on Monday) I’m not very familiar w/ tumbler
but I’m sure I’d like it

    7. How long have you been reading and how did you found out about this blog?
I started around this time last year, I think from stumbling across your etsy site selling your tree wall art

    8. Do you like that jenloveskev is more than just a fashion blog? Do you enjoy reading about my other interests? Yes and yes!

    9. Do you like when there is a schedule for the week? (ex. Recipe on Tuesday, Baby week photos on Thursday, outfit posts daily) or does it not matter?
    It doesn’t matter..

  56. I adore your blog and have been reading since probably early May-ish. I originally came to your blog from the blog Orchid Grey and I subscribe to both of your blogs on bloglovin so I come to the site whenever there is a new post. I really adore your blog–I love your unique style!–but I have to admit I am a bit less interested in the baby-themed posts. Rowan is a total cutie so I hope this doesn’t come across as too harsh but yea, I’d have to say that not having a baby and not planning to in the near future, I’m more interested in your fashion and food themed posts than in baby related ones. Either way, I will continue to be a loyal reader (and big fan)!

  57. I check in on JLK every day. I really love reading all of your posts, though the “I’d wear that” are the ones that I usually skim over, mostly because I like to see clothes on people (if that makes sense.) I read your blog because you’re honest and open, plus you and your little family are adorable. I found you via Design Sponge when they featured your bedroom redo. Can’t wait to see what you have in store for 2011!

  58. Courtney •

    1. How often do you read jenloveskev?
I check every few days for new posts.. nerdy i know

    2. What is your favorite part of jenloveskev?
last nights dinner.. I am interested in becoming a vegetarian and the food looks so good! I also loved your pics of Rowan’s clothing especially in the begining with all the cute handmade baby goodies

    3. What is your least favorite part (constructive criticism please- don’t be mean)
    I don’t have a least favourite part 🙂

    4. What would you like to see more of?
recipes + d.i.y stuff.. you used to have a lot more but i’m guessing baby eats a lot of your time 🙂

    5. Any suggestions for making the actual blog more functional? (I am hoping for a sweet redesign sometime in the new year)
Catagorise or tag posts so you can look through sytle/recipes etc.. took me ages to stalk down an old recipe on here!

    6. Would you be interested in following a jenloveskev inspirational tumblr site? (its in the works hopefully ready to debut on Monday)
Yes 🙂 i love tumblr and will follow you happily

    7. How long have you been reading and how did you found out about this blog?
over a year.. I’m not sure how i got here

    8. Do you like that jenloveskev is more than just a fashion blog? Do you enjoy reading about my other interests?
fashion blogs seem a bit fluffy and pointless. this is more a lifestyle blog i suppose? i love the foody and baby bits 🙂

    9. Do you like when there is a schedule for the week? (ex. Recipe on Tuesday, Baby week photos on Thursday, outfit posts daily) or does it not matter?
it doesn’t bother me.. it is nice to know that there will be new posts on a specific day but its understandable that your busy.

    10. Umm, Any other thoughts you have to make jenloveskev an even better experience? Ill listen to any suggestions. Heres your chance. Feel free to answer all or just a few of the above questions. I really appreciate the input.
Just tag the posts so they can be tracked easily and its easier for readers to flick back through and find posts. 🙂 Thanks for sharing a slice of your life 🙂

  59. Monique •

    1. I read it whenever there’s a new post, and I randomly check back for baby stuff that I like and bookmark, or food
    2. Honestly, I love the new portion with Rowan, it’s great for me as a wanna be mom, I also love your food posts bc I’m also a vegetarian.
    3. None, I really love that your blog is well-rounded and covers various topics
    4. Recipes, especially now with Rowan
    5. Categories would help or tags, like recipes, baby stuff, style, also, I would love if you just created a page for your pregnancy style file, I will be referencing it frequently since we’re on the same time frame. Plus, you were just super cute and I tell all my preggo friends to reference you to be cute while
    6. Maybe
    7. Hmmm, probably since your what I wore feature this summer, that’s when I found you!
    8. Yes! I love that it’s so versatile, pls don’t change!
    9. Schedule doesn’t matter as much as variety, it’s just nice to see everything, but I don’t care if it’s on different days.
10.other than adding a page just for the pregnancy file, nope, love what you’re doing, keep it up!

  60. I just want to say first that I love your blog and the way you fill it will many aspects of your life!
I have been reading for almost a year now I think… I don’t remember how I fould you exactly but it would have been through another blog
I read your blog almost daily (it’s near the top of my list!)
I love that you include other aspects of your life on here… it makes you seem that much more real and down to earth! including your journey with Rowan has been amazing to watch and I can’t wait to see how she grows!
I also really like when you post the last nights dinner posts… my boyfriend recently became a vegetarian so I am always looking for ideas!
I really don’t think I have any suggestions for you!
    Keep up the amazing work!

    Erin

  61. 1. How often?
I read on Google Reader, which I usually read daily, or at least 5 or so days a week.

    2. Favorite part?
    Outfit posts

    3. Least favorite?
Baby-related posts. Rowan is adorable, but babies are not a topic I seek to read about frequently, so an occasional post about her would be more to my taste.

    6. Interested in a jenloveskev inspirational tumblr site?
    Yes.

    7. How long have you been reading and how did you found out about this blog?
I think maybe a year and a half? Not sure how I found your blog.

    8. Do you like that jenloveskev is more than just a fashion blog? Do you enjoy reading about my other interests?
I’m less interested in the other stuff. I mainly read for the fashion posts. Maybe if I shared your other interests I would enjoy that you posted other stuff, but cooking and babies aren’t really my thing. If you focused more on art and home decor and added things like books or animals, I’d be more interested in the non-fashion posts.

    9. Do you like when there is a schedule for the week? (ex. Recipe on Tuesday, Baby week photos on Thursday, outfit posts daily) or does it not matter? Does not matter to me in the least. I read my Google Reader almost daily, but I don’t always make it through all the new posts on the day they’re posted, so sometimes I’m catching up on a week’s worth of posts at a time.

    10. Umm, Any other thoughts you have to make jenloveskev an even better experience? Ill listen to any suggestions. Heres your chance. Feel free to answer all or just a few of the above questions. I really appreciate the input.
I enjoy that you share your family life with us, and pictures of Kev and Rowan and your sisters and your christmas cards and your etsy projects and your house, and talk about other things. While I follow mainly for the fashion posts and photos, I enjoy reading about a bigger slice of your life than just the clothes. But I still follow mainly for the outfits, so having that be the majority and the other stuff being a small slice would be most interesting to me.

I enjoy follow your blog. Happy New Year!

  62. 1) Every other day or so (i really just need to subscribe!).
    2) When you’re totally honest about what it’s like to be a new mom & the struggles you’ve had. As a mom of a 2 yr old & 1 yr old it’s refreshing to realize we’re all in the same boat. It gets annoying when people just go on & on about how much they love their kids & how great life is. I adore my daughters & i’m truly blessed, but there will always be challenges to tackle, it’s what makes life interesting (and fun to read about!).
    3) Although i love your fashion sense, i could never pull any of it off myself. What’s a slightly overweight, zero style, working mom to do?
    4) Even though it’s been a relatively small part of your blog, i really enjoy the vegetarian recipes. I’m always looking for healthy meals that my toddlers will eat as well. And i also really liked the tour of your home in Mass, love your interior design sense!
    5) Perhaps categories along the side? Not sure what i would change about the design… i do think it doesn’t quite express how multi-talented you are & how many different interests you have.
    6) Yes!
    7) Hmmm…. about a year & half i think. I was so surprised to realize that you don’t live that far away from me, small world.
    8) Yes, i like that your blog is multidimensional, i would get bored with just fashion posts (again, i have zero fashion sense, ha! ha!)
    9) I think that’s it for me… hope your new year is fantastic!

  63. 1. I click over at least 3- 5 times a week. Sometimes more!

    2. I love your photography and your real world style.

    3. Last Night’s Dinner. I don’t get why so many style bloggers photograph their food!

    4. I really like the direction you’re going– I really consider yours more of a lifestyle blog ala Rockstar Diaries or Dear Baby instead of strictly a style blog.

    5. Make your categories and archives easier to access.

    6. Not really. Erin and Rebecca do them, and they’re fantastic, but I don’t really see the purpose. I feel some of the style blog Tumblrs are just a lot of mindless reblogging. Perhaps do a Tumblr that is different! Why add more work on a separate site if it’s not going to be a little different?

    7. I’ve been reading for at least a year and a half. I think I found you through Lucky Style Spotters.

    8. I LOVE that your blog is more than “here’s what I wore today and here’s where I went”. I really appreciate the evolution it’s taken to include motherhood.

    9. It doesn’t matter

    10. You’ve always been one of my favorite! Keep up the good work. Be sure to take time for you and your growing family. I know that I can’t focus too much on checking my traffic stats or getting noticed by perspective sponsors or in the mom-blog community without adding stress to my already busy life, and I don’t know if the same goes for you. Your blog is a blessing! May it always seem easy and never like a burden!

  64. I have been reading for several years and am looking forward to continue reading…and would be interested in checking out the Tumblr site. =) I really like when you post on your faith/art stuff. I find this really encouraging and hope you keep it up/add more. I’m not aware of many people who are integrating their faith and art…at least in the blogging world and in a way that I can resonate with.

That said, I don’t know that there’s really a ‘least favorite’ thing for me on this site. I suppose I could say the fashion details, yet I do find those posts visually inspiring. I’m not near as daring in my attire and I can usually find one or two things in the fashion posts where I can say, ‘huh, yeah, I could probably pull that off’. So I think that although I give them a quick glance, I’m still processing and enjoying them. It definitely fills out more of who YOU are, so that’s key. =)

  65. 1. How often do you read jenloveskev? every other day or every few days

    2. What is your favorite part of jenloveskev? your style, your stories, and the fact that you don’t seem to care about hollywood or designers.

    4. What would you like to see more of?vegetarian recipes!!

    6. Would you be interested in following a jenloveskev inspirational tumblr site? (its in the works hopefully ready to debut on Monday) i don’t really like tumblr

    7. How long have you been reading and how did you found out about this blog? a few months. i found it randomly

    8. Do you like that jenloveskev is more than just a fashion blog? Do you enjoy reading about my other interests? yes! especially your life as a mother

    9. Do you like when there is a schedule for the week? (ex. Recipe on Tuesday, Baby week photos on Thursday, outfit posts daily) or does it not matter? i like the idea of it but i don’t think it’s necessary

  66. 1. Every time a post comes up on my Google Reader, so every day.
    2. Pictures and variety of content.
    3. Occasionally there are a lot of typos or grammar mistakes. This doesn’t bother me too much, but when I see them in your letters to Rowan, I cringe because I think they distract from the wonderful content.
    4. Nothing in particular, I just like the variety. Maybe more of your house/apartment.
    5. Not really – I don’t often look at the actual site, just the RSS feed.
    6. Not really.
    7. Been reading for over a year, probably found from another style blog.
    8. Yes! You seem very artistic and you and Kev both have varied interests – I love it!
    9. I do like the schedule because it ensures variety, but if it doesn’t work for you, I say nix it.
    10. Keep doing what you’re doing, and have a great 2011.

  67. 1. Daily if there’s a new post in the feed. I’ve started reading your old archives when there isn’t though!
    2. Feeling close to you (not in a creepy way!). It just feels like if I saw you in the supermarket I’d be able to spark up a conversation with you.
    3. Weekly photos of Rowan. I love photos of her and when you dress her but every week kind of gets old. She is stinkin’ cute though. 🙂
    4. What inspires you, how you piece outfits together (by texture, color, era, mood, etc.), how you find cute clothes when you shop (especially in thrift stores).
    5. A search bar! I usually read in RSS but when I’m looking for a post on your site and I know a few key words that would help so much in finding it!
    6. Ehh…
7.Hmmm…a little less than a year. About when you were 3 months pregnant I think I started reading. I think I found you through Orchid Grey, google, or some other fashion blog.
    8. Absolutely. I love how you and Kev are both artists. You can definitely tell that by the way you style your outfits and I LOVE it. I love seeing your art when you share it.
    9. It really doesn’t matter to me.
    10. God bless:)

  68. 1. At least 4 days a week

    2. Style Files! I love your creative, feminine style.

    3. I don’t have a least favorite–I enjoy all your posts.

    4. Your food always looks delicious, I’d love to see more.

    5. Ha, I think you could give ME some tips on making my blog more functional!

    6. Maybe–I don’t follow many tumblrs but I’d check it out.

    7. Hmmm, at least 6 months I think. And I think I found you from Jessica of What I Wore, but I can’t really remember!

    8. YES! I love reading about your style, your food, and Rowan. I’m hoping to start a family soon, and I’m learning SO MUCH from you. Thank you!

    9. I like the idea of a schedule, but it doesn’t really matter to me.

  69. 1. How often do you read jenloveskev? Daily-ish.
    2. What is your favorite part of jenloveskev? I came for the fashion, but I really love your blog because you share about you & your whole life… I really like how approachable and open you are.
    3. What is your least favorite part? Probably the baby style file parts. I like it when you post about Rowan as part of your life & your honesty about life with baby. I also like it when you give tips (like re: cloth diapers), but I baby clothes are not my thing so the style files are not my favorite.
    4. What would you like to see more of? Hmm… outfit photos are my favorite but I would also like to see more home decor & your art.
    5. Any suggestions for making the actual blog more functional? That doesn’t matter to me, I read in google reader.
    6. Would you be interested in following a jenloveskev inspirational tumblr site? don’t use tumblr, so probably not but perhaps.
    7. How long have you been reading and how did you found out about this blog? Umm… maybe a year? I don’t remember exactly how, thru a link from some other style blog I follow.
    8. Do you like that jenloveskev is more than just a fashion blog? Do you enjoy reading about my other interests? Yes – I like the fashion most but I also like that you post about you as a person.
    9. Do you like when there is a schedule for the week? doesn’t matter to me.

  70. 1. I read Jen Loves Kev close to everyday
    2. I first came here when Orchid Grey congratulated you on your pregnancy back in the early spring, I feel in love with the your personal style and I had to keep coming back to watch your pregnancy progress, I love reading about your life and hearing about everything in addition to seeing the great outfits you put together.
    3. Probably the last nights dinner posts, if I had to choose something, i just think that the other aspects are more interesting.
    4. I love reading about your time as a parent, I’m not a parent so I find it super duper interesting, I would love to see more style files also.
    5. Nope, I love the look of the blog as is.
    6. I would love to follow a tumblr site!
    7. Through a link from Orchid Grey, maybe in march..
    8. I love reading about more than just fashion, you as a person are so so interesting and inspirational, your whole life is.
    9. A schedule isn’t super important to me, I love seeing Rowan though, so keeping that regular would be great! (But I know being a parent is crazy so it’s probably hard!)
    10. Keep on doing what you’re doing, you brighten up my life! Happy New Year!!!!

  71. 1. I read your blog when I need to get away from work. Seems to be a few times a week.

    2. The stories you share and the clothes you wear to live those stories.

    3. I honestly enjoy everything and do not have any tips to help you create a better blog. Sorry!

    4. I think you have a good mix, I would not define it with a schedule (#9)

    5. It is currently pretty user friendly.

    6. Of course

    7. I found out about your blog this year, I think when you were about 25 weeks pregnant or so. I believe my friend told me about your site.

    8. Yes, I like reading about all of your interests. If you started as fashion, I definitely think you have grown to all of your interests.

    9. See #4

    10. I think that your blog is popular because people relate to you. You are the friend that we do not really know but know everything about. It is interesting to read about your interests and your life, you help make me think a little harder each day before getting dressed or the next crafty thing I can sew to gift to a friends child as a gift. You are doing a great job and I enjoy your blog!!

  72. 1. I read your blog whenever there is a new post – pretty much daily.

    2. My absolute favourite is your unique style. I came for the fashion, and I will stay for the fashion. Keep on doing style files and I will be with you for life.

    3. Not to be blunt, but the baby stuff is kind of not my thing. I am a single University student, and babies just are not on my radar. However, I love how adorable Rowan is, and I am totally taken with the baby style files (keeping with the theme – love it!) but all the product reviews and stuff is not up my alley.

    4. I want more outfits! I signed on for fashion, and fashion I must have! I also really love your recipes – delish.

    5. The blog is fab the way it is – no worries about making it better.

    6. Not a tumblr user, but if I were to go ther for any blogger it would be you.

    7. I have been reading for about a year (or so). I found you through a link from another fashion blog – What I Wore Today.

    8. Fashion, fashion, fashion! You have some pretty awesome interests, and one beautiful baby, but I would love to see some more outfits. I do like that the blog has a bit more personality than the generic “here is my outfit – now fawn” kind. You have a unique and enchanting outlook!

    9. The schedule is good because it makes sure that every subject gets its turn – nothing is overdone. I think you would be fine without it, though.

    10. Just stay true to yourself and follow your heart. You are a fantastic person, and your unique perspective is something amazing. If you let others tell you how to run your blog you will lose that spark. Listen to suggestions, but always do what you know is right! That will make the readers stay!

  73. 1. How often do you read jenloveskev? Everyday!

    2. What is your favorite part of jenloveskev?
um. everything. i love your style files and just seeing how you cope with new life changes… especially motherhood!

    3. What is your least favorite part (constructive criticism please- don’t be mean)
i don’t really read the “id wear that” posts… i dont know why, i just dont. ha.

    4. What would you like to see more of?
i enjoy hearing all the baby stuff even though im not a mom or married or anything, its SO nice to get your perspective on all that jazz.

    5. Any suggestions for making the actual blog more functional? (I am hoping for a sweet redesign sometime in the new year)
redesign would be sweet…and possibly archiving? for example to read all baby posts…style files…last nights dinner etc.

    6. Would you be interested in following a jenloveskev inspirational tumblr site? (its in the works hopefully ready to debut on Monday)
    yep

    7. How long have you been reading and how did you found out about this blog?
about a year and a half… through various blogs that i read!

    8. Do you like that jenloveskev is more than just a fashion blog? Do you enjoy reading about my other interests?
yes, i love your fashion and am inspired by it however i continue reading for all the other aspects of your blog that aren’t fashion related.

    9. Do you like when there is a schedule for the week? (ex. Recipe on Tuesday, Baby week photos on Thursday, outfit posts daily) or does it not matter?
honestly i dont think a schedule matters to most readers… it reads more natural if you just go with the flow of your daily life since thats why so many of us read in the first place. i find schedules often set yourself up for getting behind or off track anyway ya know?

  74. 1. I’ve added you to my google reader so whenever I get the chance to catch up with that, a couple of times a week?

    2. The day to day life stuff, Rowans progress and the fashiony things, so uh, basically all of it? haha

    3. Not too interested in the food posts but would be if you posted more recipes or tutorials etc

    4. Rowan!!!

    5. Not sure sorry, I don’t often look at the site itself, just the posts in my reader.

    6. YES! I love Tumblr!!

    7. I found your blog through What I Wore, I think? And I’ve been reading for well over a year, maybe two years?

    8. Yes I do! And I love seeing your art.

    9. It doesn’t really matter what schedule those things are in as long as you’re updating regularly! Which you do!

  75. 1. I read jenloveskev every day!
    2. My favorite part is the outfit posts and mommy advice.
    3. I do not read the dinner posts, but am always impressed by the photos! I’m just not into cooking.
    4. Rowan and baby posts 🙂
    5. E-mail subscription would be nice.
    6. Yes! I’m starting one for myself also.
    7. I have been reading for a few months. I found you after I started my own fashion blog.
    8. Yes, I enjoy reading about your lifestyle and not just outfit posts.
    9. The schedule does not matter to me.

Thanks for what you do! It inspires me!

  76. 1. How often do you read jenloveskev? Every time there is something new to read.

    2. What is your favorite part of jenloveskev? Style File and the baby =)

    3. What is your least favorite part (constructive criticism please- don’t be mean). It’s hard to say least favorite, I think for me its just something I don’t read and that would be “I’d wear that” and the sponsors, but that doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t be included of course =)

    4. What would you like to see more of? You know, I’m not sure. I definitely like to hear/read your thoughts, that’s for sure.

    5. Any suggestions for making the actual blog more functional? (I am hoping for a sweet redesign sometime in the new year). I would like there to be tags and have things clumped together by category. For example, if I’m looking for a meal to make tonight, I’d like to be able to click on a link that says “what we ate” and browse through and pick one, rather than searching through each archive chronologically, same goes with fashion files and such =)

    6. Would you be interested in following a jenloveskev inspirational tumblr site? (its in the works hopefully ready to debut on Monday) I’m not sure. I’d have to look at it.

    7. How long have you been reading and how did you found out about this blog? Probably about a year, and honestly, I don’t know how…I think I googled fashion and came upon one of your posts and I started following since then.

    8. Do you like that jenloveskev is more than just a fashion blog? Do you enjoy reading about my other interests? Yes I do.

    9. Do you like when there is a schedule for the week? (ex. Recipe on Tuesday, Baby week photos on Thursday, outfit posts daily) or does it not matter? I do. I’m very into organization and streamlineness… is that a word…I’m sure you get me =)

Good luck, I seriously have enjoyed the blog and I’m a sucker for babies, so now with that little addition, I’m way more hooked =)

  77. 1. Minimum of 3 times a week.

    2. I love the simplicity of the site. It isn’t an eye sore when I click your page and I know right where to go! I also love your honesty. I also love the variety. I love that you show a mom doesn’t have to be frumpy and when I visit your site it gives me a little more guts to be fashionable…I say more “ya, i can do that!” 🙂

    3. Trying to find an old post but have to go through all of them to find it.

    4. I really think you do well at variety. I can’t really think of anything? Maybe a quarterly ‘man style file’ with Kev. LOL

5.just finding old posts better. Other than that, love how there isn’t SO MUCH going on!

    6. sure

    7. I’ve been reading since you had the family blog from Hawaii and kept following when you turned it into this.

    8. ABSOLUTELY! It wouldn’t feel complete if it was just about fashion. You are a mom, a wife, an artist. It is perfect!

    9. wouldn’t matter

    10. Maybe when you do an “I wear that”, follow it up with that person actually wearing what you suggested, or their “cheap” version of what you said? Not sure how that would work, but would be cool to see if they followed through or how they made it their own.

  78. 1. 1-2 times per week.
    2. Initially it was your fashion posts, but as my husband and I get closer to starting a family ourselves (and since half of the fashion bloggers I internet stalk seem to be pregnant or are new mommies anyway) I’m now just as fascinated by pregnancy /mommy/baby posts.
    3. If I had to pick I would say the recipes, but I wouldn’t say that they detract from your blog necessarily… I just don’t want to eat dinner at your house. Not being mean – I’m just a meat and potatoes (and NOT a pumpkin and coconut soup) kinda girl. 🙂
    4. I like your variety.
    7. I’ve been reading your blog since before you were pregnant and I’m sure I found you through another fashion blogger’s link, but I don’t remember whose.
    8. Yes! I really appreciate the posts about your experiences in parenthood like your birth story. And also your reviews like the cloth diaper post. I also love any posts about your home – ridiculously beautiful!
    9. Totally doesn’t matter especially since I don’t read daily. I look over all of the posts that I missed, reading the ones that interest me and skipping over the ones that don’t (like acorn squash recipes… yuck!).
    10. I read a lot of genre specific blogs (fashion, babies, home improvement, etc…), but I’ve really enjoyed following the evolution of your blog as your life changes. Surprise me – I’ll read it (and keep skipping the recipes).
Good luck with the blog! I’m looking forward to the changes over 2011!

  81. Michelle •

I really enjoy JenLovesKev – I love your style & recipes, and your baby posts make me cry (in a good way) with some regularity. I love that you’re a real person and that you’re so passionate about the people and things in your life.

I read the blog on Google Reader which is crack for me so I read it pretty regularly. Generally I like blog schedules (#9) because it adds a little bit of structure, so if that works for you go for it!

The only suggestion I would make is to do a more thorough spelling/grammar check before publishing new posts. It really isn’t that big a deal but those kinds of details can spiff up a blog as significantly as a redesign.

  82. 1. How often do you read jenloveskev? I read every post through Google Reader. Your blog is one of the few I actively click on (instead of just reading my feed comes). You are very authentic, and I feel like I know you from reading your blog even though I’ve never met you.

    2. What is your favorite part of jenloveskev? I came here for your eclectic fashion mixes, but I love the baby and food posts too. Your daughter is a few days younger than my son. I felt creepy reading about your pregnancy experience without ever commenting on it, but it was reassuring hearing about your experiences as I also experienced them (and now as our September babies grow). (I also follow James at Bleubird Vintage more closely than before because her daughter is around the same age as my son.)

    3. What is your least favorite part (constructive criticism please- don’t be mean) I really love your blog, so I don’t have a least favorite part. But since you asked–I do have to admit that your typos and grammatical errors can be a bit distracting. (Note: I’m an English teacher, so the errors glare at me.)

    4. What would you like to see more of? I love the fashion posts.

    5. Any suggestions for making the actual blog more functional? (I am hoping for a sweet redesign sometime in the new year) Not my area of expertise

    6. Would you be interested in following a jenloveskev inspirational tumblr site? (its in the works hopefully ready to debut on Monday) Yes, and I am following. 🙂

    7. How long have you been reading and how did you found out about this blog?
I think I’ve been reading for at least a year. I am not sure how I discovered your blog. I’m sure it was from a link off someone else’s fashion blog. Actually, I just remembered as I was proofreading my response here…Ha ha…If you proofread like I do, you’d never actually get a post up! I googled “teacher fashion,” and your teacher posts came up. They were very inspiring for me.

    8. Do you like that jenloveskev is more than just a fashion blog? Do you enjoy reading about my other interests? YES!!! It makes the whole blog more well-rounded and interesting to read.

    9. Do you like when there is a schedule for the week? (ex. Recipe on Tuesday, Baby week photos on Thursday, outfit posts daily) or does it not matter?
I like looking forward to your Thursday baby posts, but a schedule is not that big of a deal for me.
    10. Umm, Any other thoughts you have to make jenloveskev an even better experience? Keep on posting, and I will keep reading. 🙂

  83. 1. How often do you read jenloveskev?
-a few times a week to keep up with posts

    2. What is your favorite part of jenloveskev?
-outfits! the background and the variety

    3. What is your least favorite part (constructive criticism please- don’t be mean)
    -what’s not to like?

    4. What would you like to see more of?
-maybe outfit suggestions? you’ve done a few posts like that but i really enjoy seeing how you would style things if you had them

    5. Any suggestions for making the actual blog more functional? (I am hoping for a sweet redesign sometime in the new year)
-maybe a filter of sorts so it shows just outfit posts or recipes or rowan/baby/mommy posts

    6. Would you be interested in following a jenloveskev inspirational tumblr site? (its in the works hopefully ready to debut on Monday)

    7. How long have you been reading and how did you found out about this blog?
    -about a year? kendieveryday

    8. Do you like that jenloveskev is more than just a fashion blog? Do you enjoy reading about my other interests?
    -yes!

    9. Do you like when there is a schedule for the week? (ex. Recipe on Tuesday, Baby week photos on Thursday, outfit posts daily) or does it not matter?
-the schedule doesn’t matter so much but i like the variety of posts

    10. Umm, Any other thoughts you have to make jenloveskev an even better experience? Ill listen to any suggestions. Heres your chance. Feel free to answer all or just a few of the above questions. I really appreciate the input.
-it must be hard to keep up everything you are doing! i enjoy your blog 🙂 keep it up!
