So, I don’t know what it is, but since becoming a Mom I can honestly say something has changed in the way I dress. It’s something maybe only I can notice and it really has nothing to do with wanting longer hem lines (although I am strangely aware at how short things are now). Becoming a Mom is life changing and I don’t mean in a Duh! you have a baby now way. I mean who you are on the inside. You have someone that is greater than yourself, who you don’t need to look good for, who brings you joy in a way you have never experienced before and that has changed how I feel about myself. I feel more confident, I feel like I know myself better than I ever have. I know what I like and what I don’t like. I spent months worrying about if this blog would become known as just a mommy blog. Not that there is anything wrong with that. I spend most of my blog reading time reading mommy blogs, but it scared me. I still wanted to be thought of as fashionable. Then honestly, once Rowan was here- I kind of stopped caring. It would be, what it would be and I would continue doing and posting what I loved, whether that be outfits, food, pictures of Rowan, etc… So, here I am 3 months after becoming a Mom and I am having more fun taking outfit photos and putting together outfits than I ever have.
Today, I will be styling these UO Paperbag shorts 2 different ways. It was so fun wearing this all day. I tweeted out that I couldn’t find one of my gloves yesterday, but I searched this whole house to find it because I wanted to wear them so badly. I received this hat last year from Hats in the Belfry but I never got a chance to style it up before it turned warm. I LOVE the huge bow on the hat. I was wearing a bow belt at first and then I put this hat on and as much as I wanted 2 giant bows, I figured I should change my belt. Oh man do I love bows! Anyways, stay tuned for part 2 later today…

I do love this look! I’m such a fan of any “paperbag” bottom. You looks great! And loved your thoughts on how becoming mommy changed your style. (:
Wow…your legs look supermodel long in this look!!! Love the polka dot tights!!!

YES, I do love this outfit, thank you for asking ;D Ruffles + bows + pleats + polka dots = WAY too much adorableness. I just adore that hat!!
I love this outfit, very edgy. I have to say that my favorite thing about your style, is how often you switch things up. You’re always trying new things and trying different looks and I think that is really cool!
I’m so happy you feel more confident! You should, you are one hot Mama! That makes me happy that having a kid makes you more self aware and let go of the things that aren’t important (like what people think). You and your sweet little family make me excited to have my own one day 🙂
I love this one Jen! Glad you found the gloves, they were totally worth it! So perfect with the hat! It’s funny about dressing with kids… I totally get what you mean. For me, I actually think my overly conservative small town has changed my style more than my kids, if that makes sense?
Ooo I do love it! What a great buy those shorts were.. I’ve LOVED everythin gyou pair them with. Also, you’re getting good at self-shooting, these photos are awesome! 🙂
You are such a pretty mom! I can only hope that if I ever have a baby I can be as stylish as you. Rowan and Kev are so lucky! 🙂
I have those gloves! Those are like one of my top ten buys of ever, so cheap and so classy. <3
Oh I love this- that hat is sooo awesome with your hair/bangs.
You look great and I’m loving your new found confidence and style!
Jen! I was JUST GOING TO TELL YOU that ever since Rowan was born you have stepped up your game in terms of photos and outfits. Motherhood looks good on you, friend!
Ooh! this is gorgeous on you Jen, I love all the details like the hat and gloves. All the colours are beautiful together
I think it’s so wonderful that being a mother has made you so much stronger and more confident. I, for one, am loving your style more than ever!
i just want to say that i really appreciate what you had say about motherhood and fashion. it is encouraging to see strong, fashionable, women also have families. stay strong!
Well, frankly Jen, some things never change: you always rock your fab outfits!
xo
That hat is AMAZING! It looks so cute on you 🙂
I just love this outfit! It is so cute.
And Jen, even if you do evolve into more of a “mommy” blog, I will still read! Because you are great. And I’m sure many feel the same way. Keep being true to yourself! 🙂
You look awesome! I’m in love with the shorts and how you styled them. That hat is great. 😀
I actually have liked your outfit posts even more since you had Rowan! You definitely are one of the most fashionable moms I know. (:
alright alright…you are SUCH a babe.
i realize i say this with just about every single outfit post but THIS ONE is my new favourite. i definitely have it saved under my ‘fashion inspiration’ folder…ps: there’s a ton of your photos in that folder, by the way.
it definitely shows that you feel more confident and maybe it’s just me, but your outfits seem to be a bit more daring and edgy lately which i love…maybe that’s the real, new you 🙂

such a babe.
I agree with Jo K. You are very much an inspiration! It is soo good to find another blog that is an awesome mix between fashion and being a mommy. I try to do the same myself and wonder when I post my more “mommy stuff” does it bored people to death and then I think – but this is me! What you say is very true – keep it up!
You always manage to pull off things I wouldn’t dream of. I’m sure Rowan loves seeing her mommy all dressed up!
You nailed this post Jen! What you said is perfect and not only that, this look is PERFECT! Keep doing what you’re doing, fuck the rest. 🙂
It’s so interesting to hear your perspective pre and post baby! You have amazing style Jen and I’m excited to see how it will evolve 🙂 You’re the most stylish mama I know!
I love your style! And I totally think your just adorable, you and your little lady.xo
Love this outfit! Also love your new found confidence. It always seemed to be there but perhaps it’s now a little more pronounced. As a new mom myself, I can certainly relate. We now have to be our best selves to set an example for our little ones which requires us to be strong and confident women under all circumstances. I’m a happier person now that I’m thinking big picture rather than worrying about the little things.
Did I mention this outfit rocks?!
I like how you disguised your paperbag shorts with a belt. Also, I’m a big fan of that hat!
Style is ever changing, especially with new stages in life 🙂

I am so impressed that you can do this…I had my baby girl a little over 4 months ago and I am lucky to pull on a clean pair of jeans in the morning!
You look absolutely fantastic! It’s really great to hear your thoughts on how becoming a mom has increased your sense of self. You are an inspiration.
