This is an outfit that when I was putting it on was like “does this all go together?” The answer is kinda no, but I think I kinda like that about it. It doesn’t really match at all. Do you like mismatching items?
I have just about gotten back to my pre-pregnancy weight. I am only off by like 2 pounds, but lets just say your body is not the same after. I am trying to embrace my now ever wider hips. haha. I have always been a curving girl but your hips def. widen after pushing out a baby (at least mine did). I am hoping some time and some exercise will help that, but in the mean time there is nothing that makes you love your curves more than a good pencil skirt I think.

Jen this my favorite outfit of yours so far. The mismatchy-ness is perfection and you look great!
Love those colors, and the brooches are too fun. You look great!
Laura
Lovely! I think the eclectic aspect of the outfit is what makes it so great!
I love this look so much! In my eyes, mustard is becoming more of a neutral, so I think it goes together perfectly!
i love it!!!!! my favorite remix outfit of your for sure! love the mix. looks effortless and totally awesome ๐
it totally goes! i am a big fan of mustard and bright plaids. ๐
You look gorgeous! I wish I looked that good right after I had had my baby! You rock!
Love this outfit Jen, I think the brooches finish it off so perfectly!
I LOVE this outfit! And yes, it all goes together, it’s the top that really makes everything pop!
I love the bright colors on you! you look so cheery and bright!
give the hips time… mine are just now back at normal width at about 9 months post partum.
I love the plaid + pencil skirt combo and jealous of the polka dot tights!
this is a great outfit! and it looks great togethe!
I think it goes very nicely. The skirt is super cute!
Isn’t Rowan only like 8 or 9 weeks old? You are making all us other moms look bad by losing all your pregnancy weight so quickly! You look amazing!
This is absolutely my favorite look thus far! You look fabulously chic and full of personality and curves are to a woman, what wind is for a kite. Absolutely necessary. Great job. ๐
You look gorgeous, Jen. That yellow skirt is awesome – I might have to get one too now. THANKS A LOT ๐
You look FANTASTIC and this outfit is perfectly executed. ๐ Great colors and great pieces!
You totally NAILED this outfit! I love everything about it! The colors are so perfect together and I think it all works together swimmingly!
My fave of the series (so far!) – you look great! Especially for just having a little one. Good for you!
I think this matches just fine!
It totally goes together – complimentary colors, and black to tie it off! Very anthro, actually! I especially love your hair. Trying to grow mine out so I can do braids again one day.
I love how the colors look together, and I love the blend of polka dots and plaid. So cute!
This outfit just looks like YOU. It’s both lady-like and a bit funky, coordinated without being “matchy.” Hot mama!
I think if the color scheme works it doesn’t have to match. I really like the shades and how they go together! What great and bright fall colors! I have a similar plaid shirt I’ve been unsure what to wear with (besides jeans), now I know. Gotta buy a mustard skirt!
well done miss thang. well done.
CUTE JEN!
I Love you!
you look lovely, I think the outfit definitely works. and seriously, give yourself some time. most people would kill to lose most of their pregnancy weight so fast, let alone having their body look exactly the same. you just made a person. it will take time to recover, but no worries, you look fabulous in the meantime
This is by far my favorite look.. Down your the hairstyle. I love mixing unexpected colors together and this outfit comes together perfectly!!

Actually it does kinda work it a weird way – especially love the little brooches with the plaid. I can’t imagine my hips getting any wider. This scares me :0 Thank goodness for Spanx.
Just so you know, I am putting this outfit in my “inspiration” pile. Love everything about it! You look wonderful, btw.
Jen, this skirt is PERFECT on you!
I think it’s perfectly eclectic! The colors totally work together to my eye. Congrats on getting back to your pre-pregnancy weight, that’s awesome ๐

I think you look great! And, I do love the colors and the different textures. How about a big FLOWER in your hair – they have reasonable flowers/bows at http://www.polkadotposies.com. Get a big black flower to coordinate with the flower on your sweater…..you look great. I love your blog!
I’m not usually a mis-matched kind of gal, but I love the way this outfit came together. I especially love that pencil skirt!! Ah, I’m looking forward to fitting into pencil skirts again in 2011 once the baby arrives!!
I love this outfit! I think it totally works; the top and skirt are both warm, bright colors, but they’re tempered and “framed” by the black sweater and stockings. I love bright, bold looks though.
I also want to congratulate you on making such quick progress with your body weight and for getting back to what you love = dressing up! My little girl is 14 months now and I’m still 10lbs away. The first 6-9 months I didn’t bother dressing up, I was so consumed with taking care of her. Now I think about how different it will be with our next child. I will make more of an effort to give myself the same love and attention that I poured into my baby. I think it helps you heal faster and stay happy in the face of feeding, sleeping and all the other “problems” (I put it in quotes because they’re not really problems…) that you face as a new parent.
Love your blog Jen! I look forward to seeing what you show us next. xoxo
Congratulations, Jen on getting back to your PP weight! It gives me hope for someday when I go through it. I’m sure that once you start running again, things will shift back. Here’s hopin’, anyway, huh?
Anyway, you look fantastic in this! I love that it doesn’t match perfectly. I think that’s what makes it go together so perfectly. I especially love that you grounded the look with black and the textured tights – looks so sophisticated. Right down to the brooches!
That’s a wonderful skirt and I think it could go with anything. It really is nice with the multiple colors of the skirt.
Congrats on making it back to your previous weight!
The Auspicious Life
Did you dye your hair? It looks great!!! ๐ Oh gosh, and your outfit, as always, is adorable! You are hands down the most stylish mom out there! ๐ ๐
LOVE this outfit. I want to go recreate it immediately- I like that you mixed all of these pieces to create this cohesive & adorable look. It’s perfect!
I totally think this goes together (and quite wonderfully). Kudos to you for getting back to weight and embracing your newer curvier self–you look amazing!
this outfit is great…love the color of the skirt and the patterned tights…congrats on getting back to pre preggo weight…took me a year…the body will never be the same after kids…but they are worth it!
this outfit is ca-yooooot! (that’s seriously how the words sounded in my head when i saw it.)
I love this outfit–I agree, it doesn’t “match” per se, but it totally works!
Seriously Jen, you are a rock star!!! Only 2 lbs from pre-baby body?!?! AMAZING!! I’ve never heard of success like that!! When the time comes, you’ll have to tell me your secrets! Btw- I do like the combo you model here… Very seasonal!
I love the way this outfit came together!
Jen! I missed this post last week and I love it! I think it is my all time favorite outfit of yours! SO cute!
I love this and it totally goes together!
