Happy Monday Everyone!
How were your weekends? Ours was fantastic. On Saturday we celebrated Kev’s 28th birthday. We had a great day together as a family and then hung out with friends in the evening. For his birthday I got him tickets for us to fly to Flordia next month. I am super excited to head down to my parents house on the water for some R&R. Its something this household needs desperately. Now we just need to figure out how to fly with baby and all her gear? At least we have a little time to figure it out.
Today has not being going all that great. Rowan has been super fussy. Well fussy isn’t even really the word. More like screaming at the top of her lungs if she isn’t being held. I decided to try to swaddle her up, get her cozy and go for a walk. That usually puts her to sleep. The bumpier the ride the better too. I got dressed before we left so I could take some pictures along the way. I think I am head over heels in love with this little outfit. The dress is so simple but so sweet at the same time. I miss dressing up for school each day but even though I didn’t really have a purpose for putting on a pretty dress and heels today didn’t make it any less fun. I love playing dress up. I am already back in pjs & a hooded sweatshirt with Rowan sleeping in the moby wrap as I type this. The dress is back in the closet and anxiously awaiting a trip out into the world.
oh yeah. My straight across bangs are back. I am so glad I cut them!
Harriet Pintuck Dress: Alexa Chung for Madewell
Heels: TJ Maxx
Polka Dot Socks: H&M
Love the bangs and the shoes! I love dressing up too, even if I’m just running errands or having a casual day at the office. Sometimes it’s just fun!
Laura
So pretty! Your hair looks so cute and I love that dress.

mmmmm girl, the way you have your hair looks so hot! love the dress
That dress is gorgeous and you looks so feminine. Hope things start to get less fussy with Rowan, sounds like you’ve got a big journey ahead of you! Love the bangs as well 🙂
I was a high school teacher too before little miss 6 months arrived on the scene, I completely understand missing getting dressed for school. I quickly realized how few casual outfits I had.
Glad you had a nice weekend and that you’re planning a trip to FL. That will be great. You look very pretty. Sorry you’re having a rough day. Hope Rowan settled down for you.
Your bangs look great!
For traveling I would suggest carrying your car seat to the gate (they will tag it and load it there) and you get it back when you get off the plane. The ones you can rent seem so sketchy. Also I would practice nursing comfortably in your wrap/sling – it was a life saver for me while waiting at the airport and on the plane. Good Luck!
btw, you look amazing and your hair is rockin’
You look amazing, Jen! I’m so jealous that you got that beautiful dress, I love how you styled it. And your hair looks soo good.
X
PS. The outfit in my latest post was partly inspired by you 🙂
Oh my goodness, that dress is so adorable! I love the color and the collar! I’m also a pretty big fan of those bangs! Lookin’ good. x
That color is beautiful on you!
And don’t worry about all of the gear. You really won’t need as much as you think you will. A car seat, a stroller, and somewhere for her to sleep while you’re at your parent’s house. Most cities actually have places where you are able to rent equipment while you’re traveling. Also, airports will just give you a little tag for your stroller so that you don’t have to pay to check it with your baggage.
your hair looks better than ever!! i mean, you always have really pretty hair but it looks exceptionally good 🙂 you’re making me want to cut my bangs again…i’ve been trying to grow them out recently…nooow i want them back haha! i find sometimes with straight across bangs they drive me nuts when they get too long (but that’s always when they look the best) ANYHOW! i’m rambling. you look gorgeous. the end.
The bangs look excellent on you, and I love that you’re such a glam mom! Dressing all nice to go for a walk. 🙂
I looove this dress!
I am right there with you about it just being fun to dress up. As a full-time SAHM, I very, very rarely have a chance to really go all out. There have been many days that have go by where I hardly changed out of my pj’s (something I swore I’d never do, especially after watching all those Oprah’s about women letting themselves go!) & certainly my face hadn’t seen a stitch of makeup in weeks! So yeah, I appreciate you sharing that you kind of miss dressing up for school everyday, because I miss it too, even though I love my kids!
I LOVE the socks & shoes paired together.
Those blunt bangs are so flattering on you! And not only is that dress adorable, but the color compliments you and your dark hair so well. Such a sweet outfit!
The details on your dress are sooo cute…and I love the blush colour!
I find that now with being a SAHM I just make up occasions to get dressed up…so I throw on a dress and heels just to go grocery shopping…but when I do that I automatically feel sooo much better…and have a much better day than I would if I was just wearing jeans and a t.
I LOVE your shoes and bangs! Makes me want to cut mine again.
I’m in love with this dress. It’s so beautifully feminine. Oh and I love that you cut your bangs back. I just think they look really good on you.
Head on over to Riverwalk, soothing babies is my expertise! Movement is definitely the key to a happy and quiet baby. When you stop, the baby just starts in once again (which I’m sure you quickly discovered)! Great dress, by the way.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this dress! It looks so good on you! You’re looking super thin for just having a baby! Are you already back to running!?!
I LOVE your bangs! & This dress is so very pretty 🙂
Kenzie Faith x
oh the bangs were a GREAT choice! they look sooo natural! good for you! does it feel like a million bucks to look that good after having a baby?!!

OHMYGODYOULOOKSOAWESOME! seriously, you make me want bangs again and that dress is KILLER on you!
I loved having blunt bangs straight across my face but I have to wear a hat at work so I never got to fix my hair.
that dress is so beautiful on you!
Jen, you look amazing! I can hardly believe you had a baby only a month ago!
LOVE your dress! You look cute as always! :]
