Last night we went to the first official summer bbq party with friends. It was awesome. I love being surrounded by friends, good conversations, food and bon fires. There is something about summer that makes time not matter. Like in the winter I feel like we say things like “we should go- its a work night” a lot but in the summer its like there is no time. You know you would just rather sit out side by a campfire with everyone than be anywhere else, no matter how tired that means you are going to be in the morning. I like that feeling. I am excited for this summer. I feel like its going to be a good one. I am a little sad that there will be no rollercoasters, ziplining or other adventurous things on my part but I am looking forward to good weather and sharing time with good friends and camping!! (although I am having a hard time picturing sleeping on a air mattress with this giant belly-hehe).

What are you most looking forward to this summer?

I love the early-90s nostalgic feel of this outfit (small-print floral and denim)! Very cute.

My favorite thing about summer is also not worrying about sleep as much since I’m not in school and I can usually function at work on only 3 hours of sleep. Oh, and bike riding.

  2. This is my favorite “preggie” outfit yet! I LOVE it! I think the vest makes it…adorable…:-) OH, and I went camping when I was preggers with my first and it was a blast….!!

  3. Wow, what an adorable outfit! And yes, to barbecues!! I’m throwing one this weekend for friends and even though it should feel like a lot of work, getting all of the fresh and local veggies, meats and cheeses is so much fun. I’m working with a nutritionist this summer, so I’m trying to entertain and provide delicious food while not sabotaging my diet. With this barbecue, we’ll eat well (but healthy) and it will be totally worth it in the long run.

  4. I love the tiny print of the dress with the jean jacket! I love the summer BBQs and bonfires, but I have to say that my favorite part is biking everywhere and sailing. My boyfriend has a sailboat that we pull the 10 blocks down to the lake (since he doesn’t have a car)… it is so fun!

  5. Cute outfit!

I love how it stays light late in the summer … I can run in the evenings after work at my leisure (during the cold winter months I get up at 5am and run in the chill as the sun comes up … not fun). Hopefully I will actually be able to get some color this summer! I’m already getting shorts and racerback tan lines … not the kinds I want, but hey, I’ll take what I can get! I also love the warm evenings and my boyfriend and I walk across the bridge to New Hope for some tasty ice cream 🙂

  6. You look so beautiful and that dress is perfect on you.

I’m looking forward to just enjoying the sun and watching the sun set on the beach.

  7. I love the vest!

BBQs with friends is a wonderful time, I’m lucky to have many good friends living right on my block. Traveling and friends are my summer plans, because I’m afraid soon we are all going our separate ways being out of college and all, so I have to make the most of the time we all have together.

And I’m happy to be spending time with my own Kevin! We were apart last summer so it’s great to have him around this time.

  10. Wow I’m pretty impressed that you’re going to go camping when you’re pregnant!

  11. Oh I really love the little denim vest you wear with this dress here! Your legs look perfect! And you’re so right with the BBQ summer nights, that’s something I really love about summer, too.
I am most looking forward to accompanying my boyfriend and his band to some nice little festivals 🙂

  12. We’re getting a dog on Sunday so I’m excited to spend the summer getting to know him and spoiling him like crazy. 😉

By the way, you look gorgeous!

I am looking forward to a wedding we have to go to in PA this summer. ROAD TRIP! My fiance and I are also camping for that weekend. Its a backyard wedding so its not so formal that I can’t get ready in a tent ; )

I am also looking forward to the two other camping trips we have planned. One is just a week away. I love to camp, love bonfires and love sitting around doing nothing but tell stories and laugh.

I too can’t imagine sleeping on an air matress while pregnant…. but I would be just like you and not wanting to give it up. Have fun!

  14. Your dress is so cute – I had to look twice at your first photo to find your bump

  15. I am looking forward to my 30th birthday! Also, spending lots of time in the water and at the beach with my baby girl.

  16. I love this outfit and all the other cute little summer dress outfits they are all so spot on. One can definitely look great while pregnant and you sure do. I love it!!!!

  17. When you mentioned sleeping on an air mattress with your “big belly”…it reminded me of our camping trips last summer while I was pregnant…and I have to tell you..sleeping on an air mattress while pregnant is the comfyest thing ever…we blew ours up so it wasn’t quite full of air…and that way I was able to sleep on my stomach no problem (my favorite position to sleep in)…and then for floating around in the water we had another double air mattress (that had a leak) …so I could lay on my stomach on the mattress in the water…oh it was the greatest feeling ever…especially when she was kicking me..hehe

  18. Hey Jen!
I love your blog. Everything you write seems to be what I am thinking! You are so true to yourself and honest in your writing. I completely agree about having no sense of time in the summer!
