Can you believe that January is almost over? Crazy. I feel like it was just New Years. How is everyone doing with their 2010 goals? Still sticking with them? Things have been going good for us. We are def. trying the hardest on the one about not being overly stressed. Its been helping a lot with keeping our priorities straight but it is def. hard because we are always busy.
So I know a lot of you have this sweater from H&M- if you do, don’t you just love it? It is like the softest most cuddly thing I own. Every time I put it on its like the best feeling. This outfit is a pretty simple one, but I am enjoying wearing it. I have had this skirt from american eagle for about 8 years. haha! I don’t wear it that often but I just can’t bring myself to get rid of it.

Sweater: H&M
Leopard Blouse: Forever 21
Skirt: American Eagle
Love Birds Necklace: My Valentines gift last year from Kev. Its from Figs&Ginger.
I love this outfit. I love it when an outfit of mostly neutrals gets paired with a fun pattern like leopard print.
What an adorable little necklace!
I don’t think I would have even thought about putting a blouse under a sweater like that, but I really like the effect! It’s almost mildly military-ish in the silhouette, but soft and feminine up close – lovely! And you’re right, that does look to be an amazingly cuddly sweater :o)
Love this necklace so much I think I must feature Figs & Ginger! The skirt is great, too 🙂
[…] Jen of Jen Loves Kev featured this lovely necklace in her most recent “Teacher Style File”. What a perfect Valentine’s Day gift! Or why not wear a fawn, just because it’s […]
I am glad you are keeping up on your 2010 goals! I have been doing a pretty good job myself! My goals were 1. to only purchase secondhand clothing (check) 2. To put more effort into dressing and not be a frumpy teacher (check) 3. To separate my school life and my personal life– meaning I grade at school and don’t bring work home (check) 4. To cook 3 times a week and chronicle in on my blog (check-with the exception of tuesday, I was sick).
Hurray for goals! And achieving goals!
You are totally adorable BTW!
that love bird necklace is too sweet!
so far i have not bought a single clothing/accessory item! i am so proud!
I’m laughing right now because I have the same skirt (I shortened mine because I’m a hooch like that) and even though I rarely wear it, I can’t seem to donate it either. I think the fabric is cool and it’s relaxed looking. Now I feel inspired to bust it out again.
I do love the sweater, a girl in my church has it and I always want to jump her and steal it, but that’s not very Christian…
What a cute outfit! I love that leopard blouse….now I may have to hunt down one of my own.
Love the skirt
I am not even a big dress/skirt person but I seriously LOVE that skirt! Don’t you dare get rid of it! (Unless of course, you are sending it to me, lol.)
I still love that sweater. Your necklace is so sweet!
So cute and can easily transition from work to night. Love love it!
Hi Jen!
I had to giggle a little, because at first I thought your necklace pendant was a little old timey mustache! I was like “oooo I want that!”:) It’s adorable as two bird though too.
I LOVE this outfit! Its SOOOO cute and something I would totally wear! KUDOS!
I love the soft neutrals and layers of texture in this outfit! And I so can’t believe it’s almost February! Where is the time going??
That is the sweetest necklace *ever*! And I’m so jealous of the lighting wherever you take these pics! Your blog is really, truly awesome, I love it. Thanks!
I don’t have that sweater, but I wish I did! I also am really loving the juxtaposition of the leopard print with the bird necklace! Amazing!
Lovely outfit! Your blog is very inspirational. For some reason, when I saw the “speak your mind” thing it made me think of the song Soldier by Ingrid Michaelson. I have no clue why….(:
Really liking this combo! Don’t give away the skirt! (it seems like it’s Khaki or militery inspired) that style is everywhere for spring. take a look at jcrew’s new stuff- they are pairing all that stuff with pretty, ruffles and soft pastels and neutrals. and that’d be the perfect skirt for all those looks!
so very lovely!!! thanks for sharing!
Hey! Long-time lurker, first-time commenter 🙂 I start teaching on Monday and I just wanted to say what an inspiration your style files have been! I had been agonising over getting the right mix of professional but not unapproachable etc… and your outfit posts really have helped. I love how your outfits always look pulled together but also age-appropriate. I want to look older than the students and feel ‘grown-up’ without comprimising my style and fun too much. I’ll stop rambling, just wanted to say a huge THANKS for giving me lots of ideas x
Love the sweater! Is it dry clean only?
Gorgeous outfit, I like the leopard peaking out from behind your sweater! – Natalya of Natalya’s Closet
That sweater looks mighty comfy!
I’ve just started following your blog–that means I like it. 😉
OOPS, my link didn’t work last time.
Let me re-comment:
