Florida Style File

Happy New Year everyone!! I hope you all had an excellent evening. We on the other had had the most miserable New Years Eve ever!!! I will keep the story short but we were suppose fly home at 2pm and we didnt end up flying out until almost 11pm. We sat at the stupid small airport for like 11 hours. Then we were on a smaller plane than we were suppose to be on and no one had their right seats and everyone was mad and grumpy. The pilot randomly came on the intercom and counted down from 5 and then the stewartess threw like 5 pieces of ripped paper while we were in the air. It was super super lame. Oh well. Kev and me were together so I guess thats all the matters.

Anyways, here are my last style files from florida! It was a beautiful night the night before we left. Kev and me went for a nice sunset walk together along one of the causeways. I hope we can go back and visit real soon(next time hopefully the weather will be warmer!)

Button Up Oxford: Thrifted
Flower Skirt: Delias (hand-me down)
Necklaces: Forever 21
Belt: Thrifted
Sandals: Sears

  1. I love this look with the necklaces!

  2. Aww I’m so sorry about your flight- that sucks! I think it’s awesome that you wear hand-me-downs. I end up with both hand-me-downs and hand-me-ups because I’m the smallest in my family. Yup, my 11-year-old sister is taller than I am!

  3. I’m so sorry about the flight, but haha, maybe you’ll look back at it next New Year’s Eve and laugh?

This outfit is so cute! I love the jewelry, but I’m wondering where the back of your belt went! It doesn’t look like you’re wearing one from the backside!

  4. Such a great skirt.. it looks vintage. And of course, what I consider to be your signature.. the layered necklaces are amazing!

Ugh, that really stinks about the flight. As you said, it’s all about being together and at least you were on your way home at midnight instead of still being stuck at the airport!

  5. I love this look. It makes me long for spring!

No matter how lame your New Years Eve was, I bet you’ll never forget it!

  6. This is the cutest outfit ever! I love it!

  7. I am not really a skirt person, however much I try, but I think I would try super hard for this skirt – it is so gorgeous! It reminds me of tapestry fabric used in Victorian formalwear, or of kind of deep toned, vintage florals. I love it, such a cute outfit!

  8. Wow, that is super lame! I think I would have gone out of my mind (I’m not very nice when I have to travel more than 5 hours in a plane). Hopefully once you get some distance from it, you & Kev will laugh.

  9. That skirt is gorgeous, Jen! Sorry that you had such a horrible NYE though- I would have freaked!

  10. Sorry about your flight! My hubby and I had a similar experience on our 1 year anniversary on our lay over to Las Vegas. We ended up sleeping in Atlanta’s airport and all I did was complain complain. I found out latter all the rain that kept us grounded ruined lots of peoples lives, homes and cars. I felt selfish, and we ended up catching a flight on standby the next day. Even though my hubby and I were on seperate benches sleeping, we were together!

  11. love the subtle, simple chicness to this look!
I want to be somewear warm!!

  12. I hate when plans don’t work out. Especially when it has something to do with a delayed flight. Hope your holidays were cherry and bright!

  13. I love the mix of that button up with the floral skirt. Such a pretty combo! It looks like you had a fun time in Florida!

  14. You take the best pics Jen! these are gorgeous, love the one with you facing the sunset!

  15. Ooooo I love this outfit! These pictures are so gorgeous and I am so jealous that you were in Florida, even if you were stuck in the airport all NYE

  16. LOVE this outfit! S.

  17. technically, its a hand me up 🙂
i loved that skirt. looks better on you though!

  18. Stunning photos.. and I love your style! The floral skirt is darling on you!

  19. That skirt is so pretty and it looks lovely down there. The water and the sun=gorgeous.

  20. Hello and Happy New Year! Ok, I’ve been following your blog for awhile (and commented a couple of times) but I need to know what kind of camera you and Kev use. These photos are amazing. Now I’m sure these were taken with some sort of flash and then the last one without any flash, but the lighting is just perfect! Nice job!!

  21. hahhaha. I’m sorry to laugh at your terrible New Year’s, but your description and delivery were just too funny! It may seem horrible now, but in a few years you will look back on it laughingly at how terrible the night was.

I have a tendency to get sick on New Years….luckily this time around, I was just recovering from a week-long head cold, so I was still able to make it out (though I was a bit sniffly). My worst New Years ever was probably when I had mono….and was completely relegated to my bed. The following year, I had the stomach flu……a terrible tradition.
