Today is a special day for Kev and me. It was today 5 years ago that we started dating (hehe well secretly). It was our secret for a while and it was truly a magical time those last few weeks of school. The summer that followed will always be one of my favorite summers. I don’t think I can put into words the feelings I have about that time in my life. Kev is the best thing that ever happened to me and I love him with all that I have. He will always be my partner in our superhero club and never will I enjoy being with someone else more than him. Thinking of all the places and things we have done over the past 5 years is really amazing and as I look forward I am so excited to experience the next 5 and 10 and 20, etc… I love him and I love the life we have together.
So I am back from Paris and all I have to say is that I think in my other life I was suppose to be born and live in Paris. I have lots to say about my trip and lots of pictures to share but they are not ready yet to be posted so I leave you for now with a few videos that may help express my feelings towards paris. Fun, Good clothes, being in love, romantic adventures… (to bad I had to be there with out kev… sniff sniff)
I love this singer… Coeur de Pirate
Let me just say how much I love this tea! Especially the mint kind pictured below. I usually just drink Bigelow Green Tea with Mint but a keep a few tea bags of Mighty Leaf in my top drawer at school and on special days I will switch it up. Today was one of those days. I can’t describe it but it makes my whole day. Oooh expensive tea how I love you!
Since kev loves to take pictures so much he helped me take some style file pictures over the weekend on our walk to go play basketball. Hopefully from now on there will be a more editorial style weekend edition of the Teacher Style Files.
I am excited about this one though because this is my NEW skirt from paris!! my new favorite store is ZARA. So good!! If only they had one out here in the berkshires. hehe
Sunglasses: Target $10
Feather Necklace: Kohls (Vera Wang) $3
Tee Shirt: Walmart $5
Skirt: Zara 49 Euros (which is about 64 dollars)- eek it was my one big purchase there
so I am leaving for France in like 20 mins.
I will not be posting anything all week. Ill be back next week!
Enjoy…
So we had Easter out here in the Berkshires/Albany area this year by our selves- we were hoping Amy would make it out here in time to have easter with us but we got to see her later in the week. Anyways we went to church in the morning and the service was awesome. Oh man the music at our church is so great. Then we were planning on going over to Brown’s with Charlie and Gina to get a drink but they were closed so off to the pump station we went were we sat at the bar and had some awesome beer and great conversation. We then left and came home were we ended up taking a nap and then getting up and going out for our tradtional Chinese food Easter dinner. Although we ddint see family and I would have loved too it was a pretty perfect easter!
Look at my lilac tree budding!!!
So there is this new bar in Albany called Wolff’s Biergarten anyways its awesome! We went the other weekend with Charlie, Gina, Hannah and Sean to celebrate their upcoming wedding (haha which was last night now!) Its such a cool atmosphere!
So remember that great package that showed up at my door the other day? While that same day everytime I went out I came home to find a new package at my doorstep. It was awesome. The last 2 were filled with eater goodies but here is what I found in the first one. Nicole always finds the greatest little treasures…
There was this awesome hand carved wooden peacock stamp, a sweet owl card, and an box with an owl magnet in it!!!
So I just got back from chaperoning a field trip to NYC all day. It was great but it was a long long day and I am exhausted. We went to the MET and then went and saw Hair on Broadway (First 3 rows baby!!) it was an awesomely amazing show. Although sitting with 16 teens watching a cast of 30 singing buck naked for about a minute was a little uncomfortable but still awesome. haha so here was my art museum and Theatre outfit…
I found this recipe the other day and I was a little skeptical that it would taste good but you know what- sprinkle it with some powdered sugar and it will do the trick if instant chocolate cake it what you are looking for. I mean half the fun is watching it come alive like a mummy thru the microwave and then eating it from a mug…
1. Add dry ingredients to a coffee mug and mix well.
2. Add the egg and mix thoroughly.
3. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.
4. Add the chocolate chips and vanilla, mix again.
5. Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts.
6. The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don’t be alarmed!
7. Allow to cool a little and enjoy!
So Kev finished his personal website and its awesome! It never ceases to amaze me everytime it opens on our homepage on the computer. So GO check it out, look around and look thru all his work. I think he is the most talented person ever- but maybe I am alittle bias. I love him…
So one of the porjects we do in ceramics around this time is year is make egg rattles. We learn about how different cultures use rattles in all different types of ceronmies and purposes that they just aren’t for babies. We talk about the Gourd rattles that are used in the hula and things like that. Anyways i amde 2 last year as examples but this year I wanted to make a bunch for my self for easter. Each one has a very unique and different rattle when you shake them. Here is how they came out…
Before they were fired the second time and the 2 I made last year…
So yesterday was a pretty bad day. Although I love my job there are some definite bad days -I mean come on I work with teenagers. I woke up yesterday after having bad dreams all night and I just started the day off in a weird mood and it just got disastrous from there at school for many resaons. Anyway I left school with a giant sigh and hoped for better things and low and behold on the way home I suddenly realized that for the last 8 months I have been driving by a bison farm. I think I have noticed before but yesterday it just hit me and I saw this giant fuzzy guy and I just had to stop. I mean it looks like something for the muppets. I just wanted to touch his head so badly- it looked so dense and spongeey. It put a smile on my face.
can I just say I love this outfit! It is exactly what I would love to look like this spring. Well minus the shoes- although I love the shoes with this outfit I would break my neck before I even got out the door! They def. are not feet friendly for walking around paris all day. T-minus 10 days and counting…
So I am pretty excited about our church’s good friday service. One of the reasons is because our friend sarah has been working for months on linoluem prints of each of the stations of the cross. They are going to be displayed on friday. She is an incredible artist you should all go check out her website. Here is one of her prints for friday…
so one of the places we are going to be visiting in France are the catacombs and I couldn’t be more excited! How creepy and cool all at the same time.

So Happy Monday (although it’s dark and cold and rainy here today)
I hope everyones weekend was good. Ours was very good. We had time to just hang out with each other and go out on a couple dates. The best part for me was we went on our first “hooded sweatshirt” walk or the season. It was awesome. In case you dont know “hooded sweathirt” walks are late night walks around are neighborhood that involve sweatshirts, good conversation and homemade hot cocoa with nutella in it. Mmmmmm
I also tired to screen print this footstool this weekend I am recovering and it was a disaster. I don’t know why we dont use water based inks?
We saw adventureland on saturday night. It was good- predicable but I was entertained…
So its friday and I did not go to school today. ooops
So there will be no teacher style files today- that is unless you just want a picture of me in my pj’s but I dont think any one really needs to see pj pants with deer on them and a boston sweatshirt. haha. I leave you for the weekend with a picture of our stir fry dinner the other night. Mmmmm
I am only now starting to know how to cook tofu better and actually beginning to enjoy it.
I just soak tofu in teriyaki sauce in the fridge for like an hour.
Then I fry it up in some oil.
Cook brown rice and then I sautee some veggies (celery, pea pods, orange and red bell peppers, carrots) and either almonds and peanuts in some terriyaki sauce and mix it all together. Super easy but very delicious.
I would recommend Soy Voy Island Teriyaki- so good.
Well I hope everyone has a great weekend. We have a low key weekend planned and I very much welcome that. We have been busy to the max lately. Tony and Paul are coming over tomorrow but that is it. Yay just relaxing!
Here is Tony and Pauls new mcDonalds commerical they directed…
p.s I just ordered a camera battery for the nikomat and some more holga film!!
peace out
So I started taking a sewing class. haha well a really informal one with an awesome eccentric streamstress in Lee. Its awesome!! It was so fun last night at our first meeting. I am starting to make this pattern below. I am going to be making A- the sleeveless cowlneck dress. Oh yeah!! Project runway here I come…
