Scooby dobbie do where are you?

So kev, me, mike and erin were the Scooby Do Gang for halloween. I think we came out awesome, haha!! The girl at subway thought so. So was on the phone in her car and opened the door to yell out to us that we looked awesome. We went to a halloween party and nikki and jays house. They were Paul Bunyan and Babe the blue ox. They looks great! It was a fun night, costume and the red sox game!

halloween treats…

So i made some halloween treats. I made these little jack o lanterns out of oranges and then hung them on string so that I could hang them around our apartment. They are cute. It is hard to scoop out an orange though. Harder than I thought. Then here is a picture of some skull cupcakes that I made. They were suppose to be for the halloween party last night but i forgot them in the fridge, so now they are going to be brought to the teachers lounge tomorrow for everyone to enjoy.

Day of the Dead Projects…

So for the last week or so I’ve been teaching my classes about Day of the Dead which is coming up on Nov. 1 + 2. They were really into the projects and they came out so good. I was so excited!! In my Ceramics and Scultpure class we made Calveras or skull figurines which they had to come up with an everyday activity for them to be doing. Then in my Painting and Drawing class we drew skulls and had to fill them with patterns and designs all while making all the colors on the color wheel with only our 3 primary colored pencils. Here are the examples I made for the classes…

turkeys gone mad…

so i was listening to NPR yesterday as I drove to Northampton and there was a segment about how there is an overabundence of wild turkeys running the streets of boston and as the globe put it “terrorizing people.” Im sorry but this sounds ridiculous. They had some police officer that has been responding to the calls lately talking about the situation and it was so funny. I guess there is this one huge bird that has staked out his home on Beacon street in boston. Which if you dont know if a very ritzy street in boston. I guess he has been causing lots of trouble. Anyways, the interviewer asked why they just cant capture and move the birds somewhere else and the police officer said that they are protected animals and its against the law to move them. He then went on to tell everyone that you should deal with one if its coming to towards you by hitting the turkey with your purse!! This was seconds after he said it was illegal to kindly capture and relocate them to a forest, but its ok to now hit the turkey in the head with your purse.
haha so funny

I went and saw an amazingly awesome mates of state show last night in north hampton. SOOO GOOD. She was extremely pregnant but didnt let that slow her down. It was a special seated show at the iron horse and She played a gand piano, him on drums and then there was a girl on a bass and a girl on a cello. It was so awesome. Lots of take is back songs but also a few new songs which of course were great! I love north hampton and mates of state. ahhh love

kev is going on his first business trip next week- well i guess first one that involves flying. He leaves for Santa Fe next tuesday for a few days. Im really for him and I hope he has a great time.
His work is also going to be on wife swap sometime soon. I guess there are filming an episode right now in ALbany and the new wife in one of the families is making the husband get a job. And im guessing since he use to be an animator ABC called kevs work and asked if he could go work there for his job. ISNT THAT AWESOME. I hope kev gets on tv that will be so sweet!!!

before the hockey game…

so before the hockey game I took kev into boston and we went to the harvard Musuem of Natural history. I LOVE THIS PLACE. its like the coolest place ever. There are so many taxedermy animals there, like any animal you can think of they have there. All the walls are painted all these 70’s color its a really neat place. We had a great time + cambridge is so fun. I really like Harvard Sq.

apple picking…

We went apple picking 2 weekends ago, it was seriously like 90 degrees out! It was unbearbale and humid and gross. I mean come on it was October!!! Anways, the apples were delicious and ate about 3 to many. We picked the smallest amount you could even though that got us about 20 apples. I have been trying to eat them all before they go bad, but its hard when its only me eating them. It was alot of fun though, kev really enjoyed smashing rotten apples against the trees, i however did not enjoy the mushed apples pieces falling all over my legs. There was a really cute dog there, he liked me and kev and told us he wanted us to take him home.

school…

here are some pictures from the classroom. The welcome to the art room one was where the kids had to 180 degree contour drawings of the art room. The animal wire sculptures were done by the ceramics and sculpture class and I made a display out in the front lobby of the school with. The paper relief sculptures were made by the same class and I think they came out really great. The bulletin board with the artist of the week on it has to do with their sketchbook home work everyweek, where they have to research one of the artist from the board.
enjoy.

update…

hi everyone!
I hope everyone is doing good! Things here are going very good.We are getting settled out here in the berkshires and enjoying the fall very much. Kev has been getting to do some really great things at work, like last thursday he got to go stay over night with some people from his work at this resort in upstate NY that costs anywhere from $2000 to $3200 a night!!! Can you even imagine spending that money? anyways, i guess its really secretive you dont get directions to it until you reserve your stay. Kev work is making the new website for the resort its called “The Point” so they got to spend the night and take pictures and things. I guess tons of famous people go there cause its so secluded and ritzy. Tom Brady and his girlfriend (Gizelle- victoria secret model) were there the weekend before. I wish I got to go. They serve you what ever you want when ever you want it. It sounds like he had a great time. Work for me has been going good. I had my first evaluation the other day. I hope it went good. I get my written review and meeting this week. I am so glad that its fall, i just love this season so much!!!
Here are some pictures of when we went to mass moca last week. Which is the contempory art musuem in north adams, it was alot of fun and a beautiful day.

boston…

one bad thing about living out here in Lenox is that we are so far from boston. sniff sniff. We try to go into the city though when ever we are back around worcester area visiting everyone. We spent the day there 2 weekends ago because we heard that a band we really like was playing a free show at Northeastern. It was a great day, it was beautiful out. We had lunch on newbury street outside on the street, we did some shopping, went over to quincy market, and then hunug out on the lawn at northeastern with drunk frat boys waiting for Brand New to play. Brand New was awesome, frat boys not so much.
