so hopefully (we still have our fingers crossed) we are getting rid of the cats tomorrow. Tedra (the shelter owner) has been a little flakey and giving us guilt trips about giving the cats back. But i think the time has finally come -tomorrow. Last night i had some candles lit and i came into the kitchen wear I had a red one lit and i found wax EVERYWhere. It was splattered all over. I knew it was a cat so i looked at all there paws and sure enough- orange cat had his back paw completely covered with red wax. I guess you could say he was caught red handed.
We got Eric and erins wedding invite today in the mail. They looked awesome, but it made me really sad because i know we arent going to be able to go and i really want to. I hate missing out on things especially on our friends getting married. boooo I think their cats should wear tuxes and be the ring bears. It would be awesome.
i found some really good I mean really good home accessories the other day at the good will. I was very excited. I m trying to make our place look more like a home and less like a college dorm room.
Casey is coming in 3 weeks. We are so so so excited. She will now be our first guest.
yippie
we went on a hike yesterday with our new married couple friends that we met at church last week. They are all very nice. We had a good time, the hike was awesome! It was all thru a valley, we also got to climb thru these small caves too. Afterwards we all went up to the northshore and got pizza.
Today we are working on painting our kitchen table. We bought kind of a tropical blueish color to paint the legs and chairs.
We’ll put up pictures soon.
hmm so i havent posted in a couple days but i dont have any new pictures. All i have to say is that…
going to the pool with no towels is a bad idea,
having 4 kittys in a small apt makes it smelly,
im going to stay up late and most likely ill be grumpy and cry about something tomorrow,
scrubs is on everyday now on tv,
i just bought pants that have zippers on them
and finally dc talk has to be the best band ever made. (along with those news boys and i dont mean newsboys i mean from newsies)
peace
i just went to the supermarket and i spend 6o dollars but I saved a grand total of 38 dollars. I am the best super saving shopper ever!!
plus i saw the crazy teacher from school, i hid down the frozen food section.
thats the second person i have seen out and about here that i know in hawaii. weird.
hi everyone
i figured i would write a more thru update then just post some pictures. Well its the middle of sept already I cant believe it, yesterday me and kev were married for exactly 3 months. crazy huh? It weird cause there is no real season change so it still feels like the middle of the summer. I have lost my sense of what time of year it is. It must get weirder as it gets later and later into fall and than winter. We are going to have our first visitor (if no one shows up before than) in novemeber. My mom is flying in November 8th and I am soo soo excited. I can not wait. Everytime we go somewhere and we think its cool we always say we cant wait to bring someone here to show them. Its been very very hot here lately and humid. I keep waiting to feel this coolest breeze that people say comes in the fall, but no luck yet. I think it doesnt come till the end of october. I mean its not cold here its still 80 everyday but I think at night it cools down and during the day its not humid and just perfect. I want it to cool down more at nights I want to wear a sweatshirt so bad. I miss wearing them. I found a sweatshirt zip up thing that other day that a big hood on it with no sleeves and I though this solved my problem. It was sleeveless so i wouldnt be hot but it had a sweet hood on it so i could wear it and pretend to be all cuddled up. I bought a robe the other day at walmart so when i got in my pjs i could wear it and feel like i was wearing a sweatshirt but its real thin and it doesnt really cut it. I found this sweatshirt robe ( below) in american eagle the other day and it was so sweet. It was on the clearance rack and threre were a hole row of mediums but I couldnt justify getting it. It would be so nice to have. It was so comfy. It was like a big hug…
people may be wondering why on earth is she talking about sweatshirts so much, well i love them, the richardsons would make fun of me for wearing them in the summer or walking around with a hood up all the time. but ok ok ill move on.
kev got a new job he started working last wednesday. He got a job where he can walk although he skateboards to. It is seriously just down the street. Its at a screen printing shop. It really just worked out perfectly, he is working with the press and oven and also designing shirts for the clients. He has one due tomorrow that was suppose to be for girls in the age group of 18-24 and be sort of a surf style shirt that said hawaii on it. He designed one yesterday and it came out really awesome. He should feel really good about it. He comes home for lunch and if i leave work on time I usually can met up with him before he goes back which is nice.
Work is going good for me, its not the greatest but I think i can mange it for a year. It really hard getting up so early. It thrus you all off for the rest of the day, especially when you want to be on the same kinda time schedule as some one else. I hate feeling so tired and needing to go to bed at 9:30- 10 but not wanting to cause kev is still up. booo
but the kids are great and there of course good days mixed in with the bad. Its a balance.
Its so beautiful here, the water and the mountains. I just dont think I will ever get over how awesome it looks. The pictures that we post arent altered- the water is just always so pretty. Yesterday we were at the aloha towers at some show that was sponsered but the 808 scene zine (ill get to that in a minute) but its like a outdoor shopping area with shops, restaurants/ bars and stuff in it but its right on the water next to the piers so there are alot of boats around. I was looking at this huge sailboat thing last night and i was reading teh flags and banners on it. (It was from canada) but it was a school. It was for high school students to sail around the world for a semester. There were classrooms on the boat and they get to choose what classes they want to take as they sail to all these crazy places. I guess hawaii was one of there first stops. I went to the website it sounds awesome. www.classafloat.com
anyways a while ago kev found this 808scene zine which is this local music/art magazine (its small) looking for help with design, the lady loved kevs work and asked for him to help design the magazine but she also wanted to feature him as the featured artist in the november issue. Isnt that aweomse!!! Well they had an event last night so we went to check it out. The bands werent so great but it was interesting. Well have to get a bunch of copies to send home to show you guys.
We were planning on going to the beach all day yesterday but on the way to our favorite spot we passed this hiking trail that we always pass on the way there and we decided to go check it out. We werent really prepared for a hike.. I was wearing a jean skirt and flip flops but I think alot of people underestimate what I can accomplish in flip flops and a skirt. Kev had no sunscreen on, we didnt have any way to carry water but off we went. It was very very hot but it was a good hike up to a look out point and light house. It had lots of little detour paths along the way you could check out. We want to go back with shoes someday soon cause you could climb down to the edge where the water meets the rocks and climb along there too. We saw people down there taking a dip in the tide pools. It looked awesome. There was a point on the hike were you could see water in 3 different directions.
so me and kev went mini golfing last night to celebrate his new job. Ill let him write on here what its like but its at a screen printing shop. Its 6 mins walking distance from our apt and it seems just perfect. Im so happy for him…
plus here is our new calender i made for the month of september and part of october and yes thats a whale that just bit off that 80’s lady arm…
last night was open house and boy was it awkward. Its weird to have to talk to parents about how their children are doing in class and have them refer to me as mrs. richardson when they are older than me. I think it makes them feel uncomfortable too cause they dont know how to refer to me either. Anyways at least that is over. The class gave me my first official lei the other day it was made out of orchids. It was very pretty.
I think we are going hiking today or to the beach im not sure. Either way im sure well have some more pictures for you soon.
here is a nice birthday picture thomas drew for me this week…. He said very very enthusiastically “its a birthday cake with some animals.”
we watched the jen and laura reality game show this week and boy o boy gully sure is fat.
so we decided to celebrate on sunday so that i could feel like a had an extra day off after my birthday. ? i dont know it made sense to us. SOoooooo I got to open my presents yesterday and they were awesome. I got snorkel stuff, a under water camera, some beach things… a raft and a beach mat and I GOT A LONG BOARD!!!!! Its so awesome!!! I cant ride it very well yet but its so fun. I got all the snorkel stuff because there is this nature reserve conservatory thing called hanauma bay park. Its world known for its snorkelling because of the coral and fish that are there. We went yesterday for a little bit but we are going back today!!! Its so excited and scary at the same time. The coral and fish are right I MEAN right below you, like you have to float straight in some places otherwise youd be touching the coral. That part freaks me rightout. I had to find the edges and swim along that so i didnt feel like i was going to touch anything. plus we get in free cause we are residents. haha YES!!!
I got my very first flower delivery ever yesterday although I was at the beach when they came they were sitting on our doorstep when we got back. They are very beautiful and they even came with party favors. Yipppie!!! Thanks mom and dad I loved them!!!!!
Yesterday we also so the biggest and BRIGHTEST full rainbow we had ever seen. It made both of us stop what we were doing and say…. “WwwOW” It was crazy, it was also a double rainbow, the second one wasnt as bright but it was still awesome.
So saturday was a beautiful day and we of course went to our favorite beach… Makapu’u beach. We love it there so much. Its just so tropical and beautiful and the water is awesome. I dont know what it was with yesterday but the waves were more consistant and more aggressive and i had what i will call a “panic attack” in the water because I couldnt get back in. I started freaking out. I couldnt touch because the waves were coming so high over me and i couldnt swim in because the under tow was really strong and the waves break so close to shore that its so hard to get in some times cause you constantly have to dive under because the wave is going to knock you out if you dont. Anyways, Kev was really good (of course) and was trying to calm me down and he got me back in. I dont know what happened but I think i just freaked my self out more than it being really really bad, i mean they were more aggressive then normal but it wasnt like super dangerous. I got out, rested and then got back on the horse and went back out ( to a spot that stayed shallower further out though.) Heres a clip from a lookout point up the side of the cliff above our beach. There were hang gliders and these guys in little bucket seats all over the place yesterday.
Here are some great pictures of the beach and us climbing up the side of the cliff above the beach. We found 3 war bunkers in the side of the cliff. They are really neat. Plus we found a cool tide pool.
this week has been exhausting, but yippie its my birthday long-weekend and i dont want to talk to another 3 or 4 year old for the next 3 days!
i was greeted with this sign on the door yesterday as i got home and then when i opened the door i was assaulted with paper. hehe or confetti which was then followed by a strawberry smoothie that he had made for me. It was a very good way to come home on a friday afternoon.
p.s this is my croosstitch im doing, im not sure what the finished product is going to look like im making it up as i go and no im not 80yrs.
