Advent Calendar…

Well, I guess I should have posted this at the beginning of the month. Whoops. We are 4 days away from Christmas, so our little house and tree advent calendar is getting quite bare. I did actually think to take some pictures of it the other day though…

I made all 25 houses and trees out of kraft paper and fabric. I sewed the edges on the sewing machine and trimmed most of them with pinking shears. I added buttons to some of them just for fun. Then I strung them all from a tree branch and hung it on the wall in our kitchen. I kind of didn’t want it to get torn apart but it was really fun to give presents to Kev and Rowan everyday. They were filled with things like yo-yos, chapstick, candy, socks, mini books, cds, etc…

Here’s to next year and a new (on time) advent calendar!

  1. That is such a cute idea!

  2. Very cute!!

  3. This is amazing! My boy and I just decided we want to start an advent calendar traditon. We missed the beginning of December this year but plan to make calendars for each other next Christmas. I LOVE the calendar you made! Will definitely have to remember it for next year!

  4. Those packages are so sweet I don’t know if I could of opened them.

  5. These are soooo darling, Jen! Scott and I have a homemade, felt advent calendar that we have been using this month. We haven’t stuck to it as closely as I would have liked to, but I’m hoping to fully utilize it until Christmas (only a few more days!).

  6. You’re so talented! We always just had the ones from the store with the chocolates in the windows haha

  7. OK…This SO beats my Costco Advent house (though that also thrills my boys.)
You must never sleep! Darling–and something Rowan will grow up looking forward to every year. I want step-by-step directions next…NOVEMBER! 🙂
    aloha, and Mele Kalikimaka!

  8. PS LOVED the Christmas card and the little fact sheet had me cracking up!!! Esp. the part with the food chart…hahaha!

  9. Making an advent calendar was a goal of mine that will have to wait for next year. Yours is so adorable, love the little trees!

  10. This is the cutest advent calendar I have ever seen!

  11. I LOVE this idea! I’m totally doing it next year. Thank you for sharing and have a beautiful Christmas!
