Style File 03.10.11

I really can’t stop wearing this skirt lately. It has quickly become one of my favorites. I kinda wish I had it in a bunch of colors. I feel like it instantly makes any outfit a little more fun and makes me happy. Especially when stupid winter wants to hang on with a vengeance and we keep having these cold, grey days like in these pictures. I tried to brighten up my day with a bright sweater and neon pink watch. At least I was cheery.

I have been packing all morning. I head out to Austin tomorrow till Monday. Eeek. I am so nervous to speak at the Texas Style Council Conference. I am going to be a moderator of one of the panels as well as speaking on a panel myself. Here’s to hoping I don’t pass out. Haha. Wouldn’t that be funny? Well, not for me but for everyone in attendance though.

Wish me luck!

And you’ll do fine!! You’re a teacher, and I feel like teaching would make me way more nervous than speaking on this panel. Plus your video you made was so amazing, you’re a natural at this stuff!

  4. You’ll be an excellent speaker Jen, I was way impressed with your dressing room video, I’d totally blank out and go “euhm” if I had to make a video like that.
Things are very grey here too, so I’m wearing a bright coral cardi today.

  5. i love that bright pink watch! i’ve definitely been feeling the drabness of this winter in chicago. always helps to add some color 🙂 good luck in austin!

that watch is eerily similar to the karim rashid x alessi kaj (here’s one in pink). i wanted it for years after seeing it at the moma store and on a coworker, and finally got one last year (in green). i love it!

  7. I’m sure you’ll be great both speaking and moderating a panel! Have fun in Austin… I still wish I could have made it.

  13. Such a cute outfit and I love your cheerful burst of color! I have a sundress covered in bright flowers that I like to wear on such “grey” days. I like to pair it with some tights, cardigan, and boots. A burst of spring time in the dead of winter. 🙂 Praying that all goes well in TX ~ I’m confident that you’ll do a wonderful job!! 🙂

  19. Good luck Jen! The other posters here are right! Your videos you have done have been great and you have the teaching skills to do awesome! (I don’t have any good skills, like bowhunting skills, computer hacking skills…. Napoleon Dynamite anyone?LOL)

  20. That skirt is lovely, especially paired with that cheerful floral top!
Good luck at the conference! I know how nerve-wracking it can be speaking in front of so many people, but I’m sure you’ll be awesome!

  23. You look lovely as always! It really is the perfect skirt to match with anything. I need more of those. Best of luck. Public speaking makes me so nervous. If I’m not holding flashcards or something I get really fidgety.

  24. Even though you were nervous, and there was a lot of pressure being the first moderator of the day, you did great! 🙂
