What I Wore

guestblogging

I asked each blogger to pick a piece of artwork that spoke to them in some way. It could be famous, not famous, new, old. whatever piece of artwork they wanted and then to create an outfit inspired by the piece. I will be back to regular blogging on Oct. 4th.

Today I would like to introduce Jessica from What I Wore

Hi! I’m Jessica Schroeder and my blog is called What I Wore. I’ve been taking photos of my daily outfits (almost) everyday for over three years. For my artwork, I was inspired by a painting by my younger brother, Dan Schroeder Jr. Each family member was given one smaller tree that makes up a larger tree when all put together.

I was inspired by both the color and the movement of the tree in Dan’s painting. I wanted to capture the windblown look the tree has, so I picked a lightweight skirt and scarf that caught the breeze passing by. A perfect outfit for one of the last days of summer.

    Jess and Jen,
Jen great job on the concept of this series and Jessica your execution in art & outfit choice here is superb. You guys both inspire me so much.

I am just a regular old stranger out here in the blog-o-spere who happened to stumble upon Jessica’s blog 6 months ago then finding Jen’s blog through her guest post when Jessica was getting married (just in case your wondering if all that guest post stuff is working on building readership, yes it is!).

Congratulations to you both on your beautiful blogs, being an inspiration and on the wonderful things happening in both of your lives (weddings & babies!).

If you have the chance I would be humbled for you each to take a look at my blog at http://www.sunshinesundays.blogspot.com especially the post from this past Wednesday 9/22 in which you are both mentioned. As a matter of fact Jessica’s blog straight up inspired the whole post! I am mom to a 2 1/2 year old with one on the way who just started my blog about a week or so ago.

Thanks again for the inspiration girls,

    Liz

My favorite one of the series so far. I, too, love that you chose your brother’s artwork, and I think you really captured the movement within the piece. Well done. xo.

I really love the way you translated the movement in the painting into your outfit. The color of the scarf really makes it pop, too. You look beautiful, as always! (PS-I love your brother’s painting!)
