Green Apple and Gorgonzola Pizza
MMm I have totally been in love with pizza lately. I crave it all the time. I could eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Anyways, I wanted to be a little more adventurous with my pizza making so I tried a different kind of recipe than your traditional sauce and cheese. It was very good. I don’t think I could eat a ton of it at once but a piece with some white wine was very delicious.

whoops- my onions got a little crispy. I cooked it a little to long as I had to wait for my thicker crust to cook. Lesson learned.
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon oil
1 red onion (sliced)
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1 pizza dough (bought already made dough at store)
3/4 cup gorgonzola cheese (crumbled)
1/2 cup of italian shredded cheeses (pre packed at grocery store)
1 granny smith apple (cored and thinly sliced)
1/4 cup Pecans (chopped)
Directions:
1. Heat the oil in a pan.
2. Add the onion and pecans and saute until onions are tender and caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
3. Mix in the balsamic vinegar and cook until it has evaporated.
4. Spread the onions, gorgonzola, apple and pecans out on the spread out pizza dough.
5. Bake in a preheated 500F oven until golden brown, about 5-10 minutes.

Everytime I say that I don’t feel like cooking, my husband says “lets order pizza”. I do find it more delicious when I make it though.
Merry Christmas Jen.

Yummy!
You should think about gathering all your recipes & photos and publish a cookbook as a gift to friends & family.

Isn’t it awesome that you can put almost anything on a pizza? I’m so glad that people are coming up with crazy new pizza ideas. I had a taco pizza the other day. Amazing.
